Overview

Zero 3 Communications is a Melbourne business phone system provider. It sells cloud phone systems built on NEC's UNIVERGE BLUE platform, business phone systems with technical services and support, SIP and nbn voice plans, data plans, and 13, 1300 and 1800 numbers. It also works with Victorian Government schools on unified communications.

Businesses review their phone provider for plenty of reasons: a contract is ending, the team is moving office, the phone system is due for replacement, or they want their phones and the internet connection those phones depend on to come from one carrier that deals only with businesses.

Summit offers a cloud phone system, SIP trunks for the phone system you already own, Microsoft Teams Calling and 1300 and 1800 numbers, plus business nbn with a static IP, 4G backup and business mobiles, all on a network we build, own and operate. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Zero 3 Communications.

How Summit Helps

  • A Business-Only Carrier

Summit does not sell residential services. Every product, plan and support process is built around what businesses need, and we have been doing it for 26 years.

  • A Cloud Phone System With Every Feature Included

Our Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month, with auto attendant, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps included. We can preconfigure handsets and ship them to you ready to plug in.

  • SIP Trunks for the Phone System You Already Own

If your business has invested in its own phone system, keep it. Our SIP trunks start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volumes change.

  • Microsoft Teams Calling

If your team already lives in Microsoft Teams, we can connect it to the phone network through Direct Routing, so staff make and take calls from Teams. You keep your existing Microsoft licences: Summit does not resell them.

  • 1300 and 1800 Numbers, Fax to Email and On-Hold Messaging

Bring your inbound 1300 and 1800 numbers across with your local numbers. Fax to email and on-hold messaging are available so the services your customers rely on keep working.

  • Voice That Runs Over Our Own Network

When your internet connection is also with Summit, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS. Our network has Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres, with DDoS protection as standard.

  • Business Internet to Match

Business nbn comes with a static IP included, at up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. Ethernet over fibre and 4G Static IP are also available, and in Melbourne and regional Victoria we offer our own fixed wireless network.

  • 4G Backup and One Bill

4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network if your main connection drops, then fails back. Internet, phones and business mobiles all arrive on one bill.

How It Works

  1. 1 Talk to us

Tell us how your business uses its phones today: how many users and handsets, your numbers, your call flows and whether you want a cloud phone system or SIP trunks for your current one.

  2. 2 Get a clear quote

We recommend the right mix of voice, internet and backup and send you a quote. Check your current agreement so the switch lines up with your contract end date.

  3. 3 Set up and port your numbers

We build your call flows, preconfigure handsets if needed and lodge the port of your existing numbers. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported.

  4. 4 Go live

Your numbers move across and calls start ringing on Summit. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and ports with multiple numbers can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Close off the old service

Once everything is working on Summit, cancel any remaining services with your previous provider.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Zero 3 Communications?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with Zero 3 Communications.
Why switch if my Zero 3 Communications service is working?
If your current setup does everything your business needs, there may be no reason to change. Businesses usually review their provider when a contract is ending, they are moving office, their phone system is due for replacement, or they want phones and internet from one business-only carrier.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on the terms of your agreement with your current provider. Check your contract end date and any early termination terms, and we can time the switch so your new services start when your current agreement ends.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes, existing numbers can be ported to Summit, including 1300 and 1800 numbers. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and ports with multiple numbers can take up to 30 days.
Can I keep the phone system I already own?
In many cases, yes. If your phone system supports SIP, our SIP trunks can connect it to the phone network, starting from 2 channels. Tell us the make and model and we will confirm.
What does Summit's cloud phone system include?
Our Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month with every feature included: auto attendant, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps. Handsets can be preconfigured and shipped to you.
Can you provide our internet as well?
Yes. We offer business nbn with a static IP included, Ethernet over fibre, 4G Static IP and 4G Backup, plus fixed wireless in Melbourne and regional Victoria. When your internet is with Summit, voice traffic is prioritised.
Do you work with Microsoft Teams?
Yes. We provide Microsoft Teams Calling through Direct Routing, so your team can make and receive calls in Teams. Summit does not resell Microsoft licences, so you keep your existing ones.
