Event Internet That Holds Up When the Crowd Arrives
Golf tournaments, music festivals, major sporting events. Summit delivers temporary internet over our own fixed wireless network, then builds the event Wi-Fi and wired network on top, with a technician on site while you are live.
- Talk to someone who can fix it, not just log it
- Internet, phones and mobile on one bill
- We tell you what you need, not what we would rather sell
The Connectivity Challenge
An event runs on its connection now. Ticket scanning at the gate, point-of-sale at every bar and food truck, the media centre filing copy and photos, live scoring, broadcast feeds, accreditation, security radios over IP, and the production office running the whole show. When the internet falls over, the gates slow, the queues grow and the sponsor's live stream goes dark, all in front of thousands of people.
The usual fallbacks do not cope. Mobile networks clog the moment a crowd arrives, because every phone in the venue is fighting for the same towers. Venue internet, where it exists at all, was built for a clubhouse or a function room, not a temporary city. And a permanent fibre service takes far longer to order than any event can wait.
Summit has delivered connectivity behind golf tournaments, music festivals and major sporting events. We bring the link in over our own fixed wireless network, independent of the mobile networks the crowd is using, and we build and run the event network on top of it.
Key Benefits
-
Independent of the Crowd's Mobile Network
Your event link runs over Summit's own fixed wireless network, not the mobile towers that 20,000 phones are hammering. When the crowd peaks, your operations do not slow down with it.
-
A Network We Own, End to End
Summit holds ACMA Carrier Licence #388. The towers, backhaul and core network carrying your event traffic are ours, so there is one accountable carrier from the internet to your access points.
-
Event Wi-Fi Built for the Site
We design and deploy Wi-Fi across the areas that need it: production offices, media centres, hospitality and corporate areas, vendor zones and, where you want it, public access. Separate networks keep operations traffic away from guest traffic.
-
Wired Ports Where It Matters
Some things should not be on Wi-Fi. We run cabled network and switching to broadcast positions, media desks, scoring systems, ticketing and anything else that needs a fixed, dependable connection.
-
A Technician On Site
A Summit technician is on site during the event, so when a vendor's terminal will not connect or a zone needs more capacity, someone who built the network is there to fix it.
-
Sized to Your Event
A one-day tournament and a three-day festival need very different networks. We size the link and the on-site network to your crowd, your vendors and your production, and scale it back down when you pack up.
-
Bump In, Bump Out
We install before the gates open and remove everything after the event. There is no permanent service to cancel and no infrastructure left behind.
How It Works
- 1 Planning Call
Planning Call
Tell us about the event: the site, dates, expected crowd, and who needs connecting, from production and media to vendors and the public. The earlier we talk, the more options we have.
- 2 Site Assessment
Site Assessment
We confirm line of sight from the venue to our network and plan where the link lands, where the Wi-Fi goes and which positions need wired ports.
- 3 Bump In and Test
Bump In and Test
Our team installs the fixed wireless link and builds the event network before your bump-in deadline, then tests every zone before the gates open.
- 4 Live Support, Then Bump Out
Live Support, Then Bump Out
A Summit technician stays on site while the event is live. When it is over, we remove the equipment and the site goes back to how we found it.
Use Cases
-
Golf Tournaments
Marketing & MediaCourses are big, spread out and rarely wired for a crowd. Live scoring, leaderboards, broadcast compounds, the media centre, hospitality marquees and merchandise tents all need connecting, often hundreds of metres from the clubhouse.
-
Music Festivals
Hospitality & TourismCashless payments, ticket scanning, artist and production offices, and live streams all ride on the network, and festival crowds are where mobile coverage collapses first. A dedicated link keeps the bars trading and the gates moving.
-
Major Sporting Events
Marketing & MediaMedia centres, broadcast positions, results systems, accreditation and corporate hospitality need connectivity that works from the first minute of the event to the last.
-
Expos, Field Days and Exhibitions
Exhibitors expect to take payments, demo cloud products and scan leads. Event Wi-Fi with separate networks for organisers, exhibitors and visitors keeps everyone working.
-
Corporate Events and Product Launches
Livestreams, presentations from the cloud and a guest network that actually works reflect on the brand hosting the event. We make sure the connection is the one thing nobody talks about.
-
Temporary and Pop-Up Sites
Hospitality & TourismFan zones, pop-up venues and temporary operations centres that need business-grade internet for days or weeks rather than years.

After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Whole process took less than a week, and is super cost effective. Highly recommend.Read more
