Overview

Xpert Telco is a privately owned Australian provider that sells to businesses. Its website lists business nbn plans, cloud hosted phone systems (including a cloud PBX, VoIP plans bundled with handsets, and business voice plans), softphones and mobile apps, plus unified communications and contact centre solutions.

Businesses review their internet and phone provider for ordinary reasons: a contract or plan term is ending, the office is moving, the phone system needs more users or features, or they want internet and phones from one carrier that deals only with businesses.

Summit offers business nbn with a static IP included, a cloud phone system with every feature included, SIP trunks, Microsoft Teams Calling, 1300 and 1800 numbers, 4G backup and business mobile, all on one bill. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Xpert Telco.

How Summit Helps

  • Business nbn With a Static IP Included

Our business nbn plans include a static IP as standard, with speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. It suits offices that run remote access, cameras, VPNs or a cloud phone system.

  • A Cloud Phone System With Every Feature Included

Our Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month and includes auto attendant and IVR, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps. There are no feature tiers to upgrade through.

  • Handsets Ready to Plug In

We can preconfigure your handsets and ship them to your office, so staff plug them in and start taking calls. Softphone and mobile apps let people answer the business line from a laptop or phone.

  • Inbound 1300 and 1800 Numbers

We provide 1300 and 1800 numbers and answer them on the same phone system we run for you, along with fax to email and on-hold messaging.

  • Voice Prioritised on Our Own Network

When your internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised (QoS) across it, so calls are not competing with large downloads or backups.

  • SIP Trunks or Teams Calling If You Prefer

Already own a phone system you like? Our SIP trunks start from 2 channels and scale up or down. If your team lives in Microsoft Teams, we connect it to the phone network through Direct Routing.

  • 4G Backup for the Office

4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back automatically when your fixed service returns.

  • Internet, Phones and Mobile on One Bill

Add business mobile SIM plans and your internet, phones and mobiles sit with one carrier and one invoice.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

Send us a recent bill or a list of your services, phone numbers, users and contract end dates, and we work out what you need.

  2. 2 Get a quote

We recommend internet and phone services to match how your business works and quote it in writing.

  3. 3 Connect and port your numbers

We install your internet service and set up your phone system, then lodge the port of your existing numbers. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  4. 4 Go live

Your handsets, apps and call flows are ready, and calls arrive on Summit once the port completes.

  5. 5 Cancel the old services

Once everything is working on Summit, you cancel the remaining services with your previous provider.

Why Xpert Telco Customers Choose Summit

  • 01

A Licensed Carrier, Not a Reseller

Summit holds ACMA Carrier Licence #388 and has been connecting Australian businesses for 26 years. We build, own and operate our own network, with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres and DDoS protection as standard.

  • 02

    Business-Only, by Design

We do not sell residential services. Every service we sell is for businesses.

  • 03

Internet and Phones From One Carrier

When the internet connection and the phone system come from the same carrier, there is one party responsible for both, and voice traffic gets priority on our network.

  • 04

Fixed Wireless in Melbourne and Regional Victoria

If your office is in Melbourne or regional Victoria, fixed wireless is also available. Check your coverage.

  • As a reseller, we primarily work with Summit’s 4G services and have been very impressed. The plans are affordable, flexible, and well suited to our customers—especially for internet failover solutions. The sales and support teams are responsive and genuinely helpful, which is why we’re proud to partner with Summit Internet. We happily recommend them.Read more

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

  • Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Whole process took less than a week, and is super cost effective. Highly recommend.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Xpert Telco?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier, ACMA Carrier Licence #388, and has no affiliation with Xpert Telco.
Why switch if my Xpert Telco service is working?
If your current setup does everything your business needs, there may be no reason to change. Businesses usually look at Summit when a contract is ending, the office is moving, or they want internet, phones and mobile from one business-only carrier.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with Xpert Telco. Check your contract terms, and if you are in a fixed term, the simplest approach is to time the switch to the contract end date.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes, existing numbers can usually be ported to Summit, including 1300 and 1800 numbers. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
Can I keep my existing handsets?
It depends on the model. Tell us which handsets you have and we will confirm whether they can be used with our phone system, or we can preconfigure new ones and ship them to you.
Can I move my nbn and phones at the same time?
Yes. We can plan the internet connection and the phone system as one project, so the new service is live and tested before your numbers port across.
Do you offer SIP trunks for an existing phone system?
Yes. Our SIP trunks start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your business changes.
Does Summit work with Microsoft Teams?
Yes. We connect Teams to the phone network through Direct Routing. We do not resell Microsoft licences, so you keep those with your current Microsoft provider.
Do you only serve Melbourne?
No. Our business nbn, phone systems and mobile services are available to Australian businesses nationally. Fixed wireless is available in Melbourne and regional Victoria only.
