Overview

VoIPLine Telecom is an Australian VoIP provider that has been operating since 2008, when it was founded in Werribee, Victoria. It sells cloud phone services to businesses, including a hosted PBX, SIP trunking for on-premises and third-party phone systems, Microsoft Teams Direct Routing, local, 1300 and 1800 numbers, fax to email and call recording, along with nbn internet. It also operates in New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Ireland and the United States.

Businesses review their phone provider for plenty of reasons: a contract is ending, the team is moving office, or they want their phones and the internet connection those phones depend on to come from one carrier that deals only with businesses.

Summit offers a cloud phone system, SIP trunks, Microsoft Teams Calling and 1300 and 1800 numbers, plus business nbn with a static IP, 4G backup and business mobiles, all on a network we build, own and operate. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with VoIPLine Telecom.

How Summit Helps

  • A Business-Only Carrier

Summit does not sell residential services. Every product, plan and support process is built around what businesses need, and we have been doing it for 26 years.

  • A Cloud Phone System With Every Feature Included

Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month and includes auto attendant and IVR, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps. Every feature is included, so there are no add-ons to work out per user.

  • SIP Trunks for a Phone System You Own

Running your own PBX on site? SIP trunks start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volumes change.

  • Microsoft Teams Calling

If your team works in Teams, Teams Calling connects it to the phone network through Direct Routing, so staff make and take calls on their business numbers from Teams. You keep buying your Microsoft licences as you do now.

  • 1300 and 1800 Numbers, Fax to Email and On-Hold Messaging

Keep your inbound 1300 and 1800 numbers working, receive faxes as email, and play on-hold messages to callers while they wait.

  • Business nbn With a Static IP

Business nbn comes with a static IP included, with speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. When your internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised on the connection.

  • 4G Backup for Your Calls

4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back automatically once your main connection returns.

  • One Bill for Internet, Phones and Mobile

Internet, phones and business mobile SIM plans all sit on one Summit bill, with one carrier to call about any of them.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

Send us a recent bill or a list of your numbers, users, handsets and any SIP trunks, and tell us when your current agreement ends.

  2. 2 Get a quote

We recommend a hosted PBX, SIP trunks or Teams Calling setup, plus internet and backup if you want them, and send you a written quote.

  3. 3 Set up and ship handsets

We build your call flows, ring groups and queues, and can preconfigure handsets and ship them so they work when plugged in.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

We lodge the port of your existing numbers. Keep your VoIPLine Telecom service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and ports of multiple numbers can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Cancel the old service

Once your numbers are working on Summit, you can arrange to close your remaining VoIPLine Telecom services.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of VoIPLine Telecom?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with VoIPLine Telecom.
Why switch if my VoIPLine Telecom service is working?
If your current service does everything you need, there may be no reason to switch. Businesses usually look at Summit when a contract is ending, when they are moving office, or when they want their phones, internet and mobiles from one business-only carrier.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with VoIPLine Telecom. Check your terms for any minimum term or early termination costs, and time your switch to the end of your contract where you can.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes, in most cases your existing numbers can be ported to Summit. Keep your VoIPLine Telecom service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and ports of multiple numbers can take up to 30 days.
Can I keep my 1300 and 1800 numbers?
Yes. Summit supports 1300 and 1800 inbound numbers, and these can be ported across as part of your switch.
I use VoIPLine Telecom SIP trunks with my own phone system. Can Summit do the same?
Yes. Summit SIP trunks work with existing phone systems, starting from 2 channels and scaling up or down as needed.
Do you support Microsoft Teams calling?
Yes. Summit provides Teams Calling through Direct Routing. We do not resell Microsoft licences, so you keep buying those as you do now.
Can Summit also provide our internet?
Yes. Summit provides business nbn nationally with a static IP included, Ethernet over fibre and 4G Static IP. In Melbourne and regional Victoria we also offer fixed wireless.
