Overview

VOCPhone is an Australian business phone provider whose cloud phone system has also been sold as Uniden Voice over Cloud. It offers a hosted phone system with call queues, IVR, voicemail to email, call recording, desktop and mobile apps, business SMS and AI phone agents, along with local, 1300 and 1800 numbers, business nbn and fibre internet, and handsets and conference phones.

Businesses review their phone provider for plenty of reasons: a contract is ending, the team is moving office, or they want their phones and the internet connection those phones depend on to come from one licensed carrier that deals only with businesses.

Summit offers a cloud phone system, SIP trunks, Microsoft Teams Calling and 1300 and 1800 numbers, plus business nbn with a static IP, 4G backup and business mobiles, all on a network we build, own and operate. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with VOCPhone.

How Summit Helps

  • A Business-Only Carrier

Summit does not sell residential services. Every product, plan and support process is built around what businesses need, and we have been doing it for 26 years.

  • A Cloud Phone System With Every Feature Included

Our Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month with every feature included: auto attendant and IVR, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps. There are no feature tiers to work through.

  • Handsets Ready to Plug In

If you are replacing desk phones as part of the move, we can preconfigure handsets and ship them to your office, so your team plugs them in and starts taking calls.

  • Keep Your 1300 and 1800 Numbers

Your 1300 and 1800 inbound numbers can be ported to Summit along with your local numbers, and we can add fax to email and on-hold messaging for the lines that need them.

  • SIP Trunks or Teams Calling If You Prefer

Not every business wants a hosted phone system. If you run your own phone system, our SIP trunks start from 2 channels and scale up or down. If your team lives in Microsoft Teams, we connect calling through Direct Routing.

  • Internet Built for Voice

When your internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised across it. Business nbn comes with a static IP included, with up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn, and Ethernet over fibre is available for sites that need more.

  • Automatic 4G Backup

4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back once your main connection returns, so calls keep running through a fixed-line fault.

  • One Bill for Internet, Phones and Mobile

Internet, phones and business mobile SIM plans all sit on one Summit bill, with one carrier responsible for the lot.

How It Works

  1. 1 Talk to us about your setup

Tell us how many users, numbers and sites you have, which features your team relies on and when your current agreement ends.

  2. 2 Get a clear quote

We recommend a Hosted PBX, SIP trunk or Teams Calling setup to match, plus internet and backup if you want them, and send a written quote.

  3. 3 Port your numbers

We lodge the port for your local, 1300 and 1800 numbers. Keep your VOCPhone service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  4. 4 Set up and test

We configure your call flows, ring groups and voicemail, ship any preconfigured handsets and test before your numbers move.

  5. 5 Cancel the old service

Once your numbers are live on Summit, you can close your old account in line with your agreement.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

  • Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of VOCPhone?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with VOCPhone or Uniden.
Why switch if my VOCPhone service is working?
If your current service does everything you need, there may be no reason to switch. Businesses usually look at Summit when a contract is ending, they are moving office, or they want their phones and internet from one business-only carrier.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with VOCPhone. Check your contract terms, and if you are on a fixed term, the simplest approach is to time your switch to the end of it. We can plan the move around that date.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes, your existing local, 1300 and 1800 numbers can be ported to Summit. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
Can I keep my existing handsets?
It depends on the handset model. Tell us what your team uses and we will confirm whether it can be reconfigured for Summit, or we can preconfigure new handsets and ship them to you.
What does Summit's Hosted PBX include?
Our Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month and includes auto attendant and IVR, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps.
Do I have to move my internet to Summit as well?
Talk to us about your current connection and we will quote phones on their own or together with internet. If your internet is also with Summit, voice traffic is prioritised and everything sits on one bill.
Can Summit connect calling to Microsoft Teams?
Yes. We provide Microsoft Teams Calling through Direct Routing. Summit does not resell Microsoft licences, so you keep your existing Microsoft 365 licensing.
Where is Summit available?
Our phone systems, SIP trunks, business nbn and mobile services are available to Australian businesses nationally.
