Overview

UcPath is a Parramatta-based telecommunications provider for businesses. It sells business phone systems, including Yeastar and 3CX, a hosted voice service, RingCentral, SIP trunks, contact centre software and 1300 and 1800 numbers, along with business nbn, NBN Enterprise and dedicated fibre, and business mobile and mobile broadband plans.

Businesses review their provider for ordinary reasons: a contract is ending, they are moving office, they want internet and phones from one carrier that runs its own network, or they want a provider that deals only with businesses.

Summit offers business nbn with a static IP, Ethernet over fibre, fixed wireless across Melbourne and regional Victoria, a cloud phone system, SIP trunks for the phone system you already own and Microsoft Teams Calling, all on a network we build, own and operate. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with UcPath.

How Summit Helps

  • A Cloud Phone System With Every Feature Included

Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month and includes auto attendant and IVR, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps. We can preconfigure your handsets and ship them to you.

  • SIP Trunks for the Phone System You Already Own

If you run an on-site or self-managed phone system and want to keep it, SIP trunks start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volumes change.

  • Teams Calling Through Direct Routing

Make and receive calls in Microsoft Teams with Direct Routing. You keep your existing Microsoft licences; Summit provides the calling.

  • Keep Your 1300 and 1800 Numbers

We port your inbound 1300 and 1800 numbers along with your local numbers, and provide fax to email and on-hold messaging.

  • Business Internet With a Static IP

Business nbn comes with a static IP included, with speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. For sites that need dedicated capacity, we offer Ethernet over fibre.

  • Voice Prioritised on Our Network

When your internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS, so calls are not competing with downloads and cloud backups.

  • Backup That Fails Over Automatically

4G Backup switches to Australia's biggest mobile network (98.8% population coverage) if your primary link drops, and fails back automatically when it returns.

  • Business Mobiles on the Same Bill

Add business mobile SIM plans so your internet, phones and mobiles sit with one provider on one bill.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

Share your current phone system, numbers, internet services and contract end dates, and we will map out the equivalent Summit services.

  2. 2 Get a clear quote

We recommend Hosted PBX, SIP trunks or Teams Calling, plus the right connection for each site, and put it in writing.

  3. 3 Install and test

We install your Summit internet and set up your phone system while your existing services keep running.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

We lodge the port for your existing numbers. Keep your old service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Cancel the old services

Once your numbers have moved and everything is working, you cancel your previous services.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

  • Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Whole process took less than a week, and is super cost effective. Highly recommend.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of UcPath?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier (ACMA Carrier Licence #388) and is not affiliated with UcPath. We build, own and operate our own network.
Why switch if my UcPath service is working?
If it does everything your business needs, there may be no reason to. Businesses usually look at Summit when a contract is ending, when they are moving office, or when they want internet and phones from one business-only carrier. A quote tells you whether it is worth it.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with UcPath, so check your contract terms first. Many businesses time the switch to their contract end date, and we can schedule installation to suit.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes. We port your existing numbers, including 1300 and 1800 numbers, to Summit. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
Can I keep my existing phone system?
Often, yes. If your phone system supports SIP, we can connect it with SIP trunks. If you would rather move to the cloud, our Hosted PBX replaces the on-site system entirely.
Can I move my phones and internet at the same time?
Yes. We can quote both together, set up the new connection and phone system side by side with your existing services, and then port your numbers. When the internet is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised on our network.
Do you provide internet nationally?
Yes. Business nbn is available to Australian businesses nationally, with a static IP included. Fixed wireless is available in Melbourne and regional Victoria only; use our coverage checker to see what is available at your address.
Will there be downtime when I switch?
We set up and test your Summit services while your existing ones are still running, and you cancel the old services only once your numbers have ported and everything is working.
