Overview

TPG Telecom is an ASX-listed telco whose brands include TPG, Vodafone, iiNet and Internode. Through the TPG brand it sells small business nbn plans with a BizPhone add-on for business calling, along with other business voice and mobile services.

On 31 July 2025, TPG Telecom completed the sale of its fibre network infrastructure assets and its Enterprise, Government and Wholesale fixed business to Vocus. TPG kept its mobile business and its consumer and small office/home office fixed business, which is where most small business nbn and phone customers sit.

Businesses review their provider for ordinary reasons: a contract is ending, they are moving office, or they want internet and phones from one carrier that deals only with businesses. Summit offers business nbn with a static IP, a cloud phone system, SIP trunks, Microsoft Teams Calling and business mobile plans, all on a network we build, own and operate.

Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with TPG Telecom.

How Summit Helps

  • A Business-Only Carrier

Summit does not sell residential services. Every product, plan and support process is built around what businesses need, and we have been doing it for 26 years.

  • Business nbn With a Static IP Included

Business nbn is available to Australian businesses nationally, with a static IP included and speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. For sites that need dedicated capacity, we also offer Ethernet over fibre.

  • A Cloud Phone System With Every Feature Included

Moving off a BizPhone service? Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month and includes auto attendant, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps. We can preconfigure your handsets and ship them to you.

  • SIP Trunks for the Phone System You Already Own

If you run an on-site PBX, SIP trunks connect the system you already have. Start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volumes change.

  • Keep Your 1300 and 1800 Numbers

We port 1300 and 1800 inbound numbers as well as your local numbers, and add fax to email and on-hold messaging where you need them.

  • Teams Calling Through Direct Routing

Make and receive calls in Microsoft Teams with Direct Routing. Summit provides the calling; you keep your existing Microsoft licences.

  • Business Mobile Plans on the Same Bill

Bring your team's phones across with business mobile SIM plans, so internet, phones and mobiles sit with one provider on one invoice.

  • Backup That Fails Over Automatically

4G Backup switches to Australia's biggest mobile network (98.8% population coverage) if your primary link drops, and fails back automatically when it returns.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

Share your current nbn services, phone numbers, mobiles and contract end dates, and we will map out the equivalent Summit services.

  2. 2 Get a clear quote

We recommend the right connection and phone setup for each site and put it in writing.

  3. 3 Install and test

We connect your Summit internet and set up your phone system while your existing services keep running.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

We lodge the port for your existing numbers. Keep your old service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Cancel the old services

Once your numbers have moved and everything is working, you cancel your previous services.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

  • Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Whole process took less than a week, and is super cost effective. Highly recommend.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of TPG Telecom?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier (ACMA Carrier Licence #388) and is not affiliated with TPG Telecom or any of its brands. We build, own and operate our own network.
Why switch if my TPG Telecom service is working?
If it does everything your business needs, there may be no reason to. Businesses usually look at Summit when a contract is ending, when they are moving office, or when they want internet and phones from one business-only carrier. A quote tells you whether it is worth it.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with your current provider, so check your terms first. Many businesses time the switch to their contract end date, and we can schedule installation to suit.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes. We port your existing numbers, including 1300 and 1800 numbers, to Summit. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
What replaces my BizPhone service?
Most businesses move to our Hosted PBX, a cloud phone system with auto attendant, call queues, voicemail to email and mobile and desktop apps included. If you have your own phone system, SIP trunks may suit you better.
What happened to TPG's enterprise business?
TPG Telecom sold its fibre network infrastructure assets and its Enterprise, Government and Wholesale fixed business to Vocus, completing the sale on 31 July 2025. TPG kept its mobile business and its consumer and small office/home office fixed business. For anything about your own services, contact your current provider.
Can I move my mobiles too?
Yes. Summit offers business mobile SIM plans, and existing mobile numbers can be ported across, so mobiles sit on the same bill as your internet and phones.
Do you provide internet nationally?
Yes. Business nbn is available to Australian businesses nationally, with a static IP included. Fixed wireless is available in Melbourne and regional Victoria only; use our coverage checker to see what is available at your address.
Will there be downtime when I switch?
We set up and test your Summit services while your existing ones are still running, and you cancel the old services only once your numbers have ported and everything is working.
