Overview

The Broadband Brokers is the trading name of Golcom Pty Ltd, a Perth-based provider that supplies internet, mobile, voice and managed connectivity to businesses and strata properties across Australia. Its business range includes Business nbn plans, nbn Enterprise Ethernet, Telstra Business Internet and Telstra Ethernet, AAPT Fast Fibre, Opticomm broadband, mobile and M2M SIM plans for things like CCTV, intercoms and lifts, office phone systems, SIP trunks and 3CX licences. It manages faults with the underlying wholesale carriers on its customers' behalf.

There are plenty of good reasons to review a provider without anything being wrong. A contract is coming to an end. You are moving office. You want your internet and phones from one carrier, with voice traffic prioritised over your own connection. Or you would rather deal directly with the carrier that runs the network your business depends on.

Summit Internet is a business-only carrier. We build, own and operate our own network with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres, and we supply Business nbn, Ethernet over fibre, fixed wireless in Melbourne and regional Victoria, 4G backup, a cloud phone system, SIP trunks and business mobile plans to Australian businesses.

Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with The Broadband Brokers.

How Summit Helps

  • Business nbn With a Static IP Included

Our Business nbn plans are available nationally, with a static IP included and speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. Every service sits behind DDoS protection as standard.

  • Ethernet Over Fibre

If you are running enterprise Ethernet or fibre today, Ethernet over fibre gives you a dedicated business fibre connection from Summit. We will scope the right option for each of your sites.

  • Fixed Wireless in Melbourne and Regional Victoria

For sites in Melbourne and regional Victoria, fixed wireless delivers symmetric speeds from 10 Mbps up to 10 Gbps across 500+ suburbs, installed in 10 business days or the first month is free. Check your coverage to see if your address is on our network.

  • 4G Backup That Fails Over Automatically

4G Backup switches your site to Australia's biggest mobile network (98.8% population coverage) if your main link drops, then fails back automatically when it returns. We also supply 4G services with a static IP.

  • Phones That Ride on Your Summit Connection

Our Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month with every feature included, and our SIP trunks connect the phone system you already have, starting from 2 channels. When your internet is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised.

  • Keep Your Numbers

We port your existing numbers across, and we supply 1300 and 1800 inbound numbers, fax to email and on-hold messaging.

  • Internet, Phones and Mobile on One Bill

Add business mobile SIM plans and everything sits with one carrier, on one bill.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

Send us a recent bill or a list of your services: nbn or fibre connections, modems, phone system or SIP trunks, numbers and mobiles. We will map each one to a Summit equivalent.

  2. 2 Get a clear quote

We recommend the right connection and backup for each site and show you exactly what it costs. Request a quote to get started.

  3. 3 Install your new connection

We connect your Summit service alongside your existing one, so your business stays online while we cut over.

  4. 4 Move your phones and numbers

If you are bringing voice across, we lodge the port of your numbers. Keep your current phone service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported.

  5. 5 Cancel the old services

Once everything is live with Summit and working, you cancel the remaining services with your old provider.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

  • Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Whole process took less than a week, and is super cost effective. Highly recommend.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of The Broadband Brokers?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388, and has been in business since August 2000. We are not affiliated with The Broadband Brokers or Golcom Pty Ltd.
Why switch if my The Broadband Brokers service is working?
If your current service does everything your business needs, there may be no reason to switch. Businesses usually talk to us when a contract is ending, when they are moving or opening a site, when they want internet and phones from one carrier, or when they want to deal directly with the network operator.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on the terms of your agreement with The Broadband Brokers. Check your contract or service documents for any minimum term or early termination charges, and time the switch to the end of your term where you can. We can help you plan the timing.
Does Summit's Business nbn include a static IP?
Yes. A static IP is included with Summit's Business nbn, with speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps available on full-fibre nbn.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes, we can port your existing numbers to Summit. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
Is Summit's fixed wireless available at my address?
Summit's fixed wireless covers Melbourne and regional Victoria only. Enter your address on our coverage page to check. Business nbn and Ethernet over fibre are available more widely.
What happens if my main connection goes down?
With Summit's 4G Backup, your site fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network and fails back when your main connection returns.
Can Summit supply business mobiles too?
Yes. We offer business mobile SIM plans, so your internet, phones and mobiles can sit on one bill with one carrier.
