Overview
TelTel is a Brisbane-based VoIP provider, with its office in Milton, Queensland. For businesses it sells a cloud PBX with Australian numbers, voice menus, call queues and call recording, SIP trunks for businesses running their own phone system such as 3CX, Asterisk or FreePBX, 1300 and 1800 numbers, virtual mobile numbers and softphone apps, along with integrations for Microsoft Teams and CRM platforms. It also sells home phone and nbn services to residential customers.
Businesses review their phone provider for plenty of reasons: a contract is ending, the team is moving office, or they want their phones and the internet connection those phones depend on to come from one carrier that deals only with businesses.
Summit offers a cloud phone system, SIP trunks, Microsoft Teams Calling and 1300 and 1800 numbers, plus business nbn with a static IP, 4G backup and business mobiles, all on a network we build, own and operate. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with TelTel.
How Summit Helps
-
A Business-Only Carrier
Summit does not sell residential services. Every product, plan and support process is built around what businesses need, and we have been doing it for 26 years.
-
A Cloud Phone System With Every Feature Included
Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month and includes auto attendant and IVR, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps. Every feature is included, so there are no add-ons to work out per user.
-
SIP Trunks for the Phone System You Already Own
Running 3CX, FreePBX, Asterisk or another PBX of your own? SIP trunks start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volumes change, so you keep the system your team already knows.
-
Microsoft Teams Calling
If your team works in Teams, Teams Calling connects it to the phone network through Direct Routing, so staff make and take calls on their business numbers from Teams. You keep buying your Microsoft licences as you do now.
-
1300 and 1800 Numbers, Fax and On-Hold
Bring your 1300 and 1800 numbers across along with your local numbers. We also provide fax to email and on-hold messaging.
-
Handsets Ready to Plug In
If some of your team prefer a desk phone to an app, we can preconfigure the handsets and ship them to you, so they work as soon as they are plugged in.
-
Voice Prioritised on Your Own Connection
When your business nbn or Ethernet over fibre service is also with Summit, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS, so calls are not competing with downloads and video meetings. Business nbn includes a static IP, with up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn.
-
Backup and Mobiles on the Same Bill
4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network if your fixed line drops, and fails back when it returns. Add business mobile SIM plans and your internet, phones and mobiles sit on one bill.
How It Works
- 1 Talk to us
Talk to us
Tell us how many users, numbers and sites you have, whether you use a cloud PBX or your own phone system, and when your current agreement ends.
- 2 Get a quote
Get a quote
We recommend Hosted PBX, SIP trunks or Teams Calling to suit how your team works, plus internet and backup if you want them, and send you a clear quote.
- 3 Set up and test
Set up and test
We configure your phone system, call flows, queues and voicemail, and preconfigure any handsets, so everything is ready before your numbers move.
- 4 Port your numbers
Port your numbers
We lodge the port of your existing numbers. Keep your TelTel service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
- 5 Go live
Go live
Once the port completes, calls arrive on Summit and you can then close your old service.

Why TelTel Customers Choose Summit
- 01
A Licensed Carrier
Summit holds ACMA Carrier Licence #388 and has operated since August 2000. We build, own and operate our own network, with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres and DDoS protection as standard.
- 02
Phones and Internet From One Provider
Your calls run over an internet connection. With Summit you can have both from one carrier, with voice prioritised on the connection and one bill for internet, phones and mobiles.
- 03
Built Only for Businesses
We do not sell residential services, so our products and support are designed around business call flows, multiple sites and business continuity.
- 04
Options for Every Phone Setup
Whether you want a cloud phone system, SIP trunks for a PBX you own, or calling inside Microsoft Teams, you can move to Summit without changing how your team works.

We recently moved our dental practice over to Summit for phone services, and the experience has been excellent from start to finish. The team has been responsive, professional, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire setup process. The transition was smooth, any issues were addressed promptly, and communication was always clear and efficient. Reliable phones and internet are essential for a busy practice like ours, and Summit has delivered exactly that. A special thank you to Michael for his patience and ongoing assistance during the transition. Highly recommend Summit to any business looking for reliable service and great customer support.Read more

After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Whole process took less than a week, and is super cost effective. Highly recommend.Read more
