Overview
Telex Australia is a privately owned Australian business telecommunications provider. It sells cloud phone systems for small, medium and large businesses, Cisco Webex Calling, Messaging and Meetings, IP handsets, headsets and video conferencing devices, and business internet over fibre and nbn.
Businesses review their phone and internet provider for ordinary reasons: a contract is coming to an end, the office is moving, the team has grown, or they would rather have internet, phones and mobile from one carrier on one bill. Some simply want a provider that only deals with businesses.
Summit offers a hosted PBX cloud phone system, SIP trunks for an existing phone system, and Microsoft Teams Calling via Direct Routing, alongside business nbn, Ethernet over fibre and 4G Backup. Summit has been in business for 26 years, and in Melbourne and regional Victoria it also runs its own fixed wireless network.
Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Telex.
How Summit Helps
-
A cloud phone system with every feature included
Summit's hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month with every feature included: auto attendant and IVR, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps.
-
Handsets ready to plug in
If your team is moving off a cloud phone system, Summit can preconfigure handsets and ship them to you. Staff plug them in and start taking calls on their existing numbers.
-
SIP trunks if you keep your own phone system
Already have an on-premises or cloud PBX you are happy with? Summit's SIP trunks start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volume changes.
-
Teams Calling as an alternative to a separate calling app
If your business already uses Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams Calling via Direct Routing puts your business numbers inside Teams. Summit provides the calling service; you keep your Microsoft licences with your existing licensing provider.
-
Business nbn with a static IP included
Summit's business nbn is available nationally with a static IP included, up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. For sites that need dedicated bandwidth, Ethernet over fibre is also available.
-
Calls prioritised on Summit's own network
When your internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS. Summit builds, owns and operates its own network, with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres and DDoS protection as standard.
-
4G Backup for when the line goes down
4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back automatically once your main service returns.
-
Inbound numbers, fax and on-hold on the same account
Keep your 1300 and 1800 numbers, receive faxes by email and add on-hold messaging, all billed with your internet, phones and business mobile on one bill.

We lodge the port of your existing numbers. Keep your current phone service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

We recently moved our dental practice over to Summit for phone services, and the experience has been excellent from start to finish. The team has been responsive, professional, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire setup process. The transition was smooth, any issues were addressed promptly, and communication was always clear and efficient. Reliable phones and internet are essential for a busy practice like ours, and Summit has delivered exactly that. A special thank you to Michael for his patience and ongoing assistance during the transition. Highly recommend Summit to any business looking for reliable service and great customer support.Read more

After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Whole process took less than a week, and is super cost effective. Highly recommend.Read more
