Overview

Telcode is an Australian-owned telecommunications service provider based in Sydney. It sells 13, 1300 and 1800 inbound numbers with call management on its Call Platform, which it launched in 2014, along with business voice, hosted phone systems, live answering, business SMS and AI voice agents. It also offers a wholesale platform that lets telcos, MSPs and IT providers resell its services under their own brand.

An inbound number does its job by delivering calls to an answer point, usually a landline, a mobile or a phone system. Businesses review that setup for ordinary reasons: a contract or plan term is ending, the office is moving, the phone system behind the number is due for replacement, or they want their inbound numbers, phones and internet from one carrier that deals only with businesses.

Summit offers 1300 and 1800 inbound numbers alongside a cloud phone system, SIP trunks, Microsoft Teams Calling, business nbn with a static IP and business mobile, all on a network we build, own and operate. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Telcode.

How Summit Helps

  • Inbound Numbers on the Same Network as Your Phones

We provide 1300 and 1800 numbers and can answer them on the phone system we run for you, so the number and the phones that pick it up sit with one carrier.

  • Call Routing Built Into Your Phone System

Our Hosted PBX includes auto attendant (IVR), ring groups and call queues, so callers to your inbound number reach the right team without a separate call management service in between.

  • A Cloud Phone System With Every Feature Included

Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month and includes voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps alongside the routing features. We can preconfigure your handsets and ship them to you.

  • SIP Trunks for the Phone System You Already Own

If your business has an on-site phone system that still does the job, SIP trunks start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volumes change.

  • Calls in Microsoft Teams

Answer your calls in Microsoft Teams through Direct Routing. You keep your existing Microsoft licences, and we provide the calling.

  • Fax to Email and On-Hold Messaging

Add fax to email and on-hold messaging, so callers waiting in a queue hear about your business rather than silence.

  • Business nbn With a Static IP

Put your phones and internet with one carrier. Business nbn is available nationally with a static IP included, and speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. When your internet is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS.

  • Backup That Fails Over Automatically

4G Backup switches to Australia's biggest mobile network (98.8% population coverage) if your primary link drops, and fails back automatically when it returns. Add business mobile SIM plans and your phones, internet and mobiles arrive on one bill.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

Share your inbound numbers, how calls are routed today, the phones or mobiles that answer them, your internet service and any contract end dates, and we will map out the equivalent Summit services.

  2. 2 Get a clear quote

We recommend inbound numbers, a cloud phone system or SIP trunks, plus internet if you want it, and put it in writing.

  3. 3 Set up and test

We build your call flows, ring groups and queues and configure your phones while your existing services keep running.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

Where your numbers can be ported, we lodge the port. Keep your old service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Cancel the old services

Once your numbers have moved and everything is working, you cancel your previous services.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

  • Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Telcode?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier (ACMA Carrier Licence #388) and is not affiliated with Telcode. We build, own and operate our own network.
Why switch if my Telcode service is working?
If your current setup does everything your business needs, there may be no reason to change. Businesses usually look at Summit when a contract is ending, when they are moving or growing, when the phone system behind their number needs replacing, or when they want their numbers, phones, internet and mobiles from one carrier on one bill.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
In many cases, yes. Existing numbers can be ported to Summit where you hold the right to move them. If your number is a phone word or premium number licensed to you under an agreement, check that agreement first, because its terms decide whether and how the number can move. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with your current provider. Check your contract terms before you switch, and where possible time the move to your contract end date. We can plan the switch around that date.
Can Summit answer the calls to my existing inbound number?
Yes. An inbound number delivers calls to an answer point, and that answer point can be a phone system or number we provide. Our Hosted PBX can take those calls with ring groups, call queues and an auto attendant, whether or not the inbound number itself moves to Summit.
Does Summit offer every service Telcode does?
Not necessarily. Summit provides inbound numbers, a cloud phone system, SIP trunks, Microsoft Teams Calling, internet and business mobile. If you rely on other services such as live answering, business SMS or AI voice agents, tell us when you ask for a quote and we will be clear about what we can and cannot replace.
Can I keep my existing phone system?
Often, yes. If your on-site phone system supports SIP, our SIP trunks can connect it to our network. If you would rather move to the cloud, our Hosted PBX replaces it, and we can preconfigure and ship new handsets.
Do I need to take Summit internet as well?
No. You can take our phone services on their own. When your internet is also with Summit, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS and everything arrives on one bill.
How do I get started?
