Overview

telco.sydney is a Sydney business telco with locations in Macarthur, Sydney South and the Sydney CBD. It sells business and enterprise internet, including business nbn and fibre, along with business voice and VoIP, VoIP desk phones, business Wi-Fi, colocation and managed network services.

Businesses review their telco for ordinary reasons: a contract is coming to an end, the office is moving, or they want internet and phones from a single carrier that builds and runs its own network. Some simply prefer a provider that sells only to businesses.

Summit Internet has been connecting Australian businesses for 26 years. We supply Business nbn with a static IP included, Ethernet over fibre, a Hosted PBX cloud phone system and SIP trunks for existing phone systems. When your internet and phones are both with Summit, voice traffic is prioritised on the connection.

Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with telco.sydney.

How Summit Helps

  • Business nbn with a static IP included

Our Business nbn is available nationally and comes with a static IP included. On full-fibre nbn, plans run up to 2000/500 Mbps.

  • Dedicated fibre for larger sites

If your office needs more than nbn, Ethernet over fibre is available for business sites. It runs on Summit's own network, with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres.

  • A cloud phone system with every feature included

Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month, and every feature is included: auto attendant and IVR, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording, and mobile and desktop apps.

  • Keep the phone system you already own

If you have an on-premises phone system, SIP trunks connect it to Summit. Start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your business changes.

  • Voice prioritised on your connection

When your internet and phones are both with Summit, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS.

  • 4G Backup for when the line drops

4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, then fails back when your main service returns.

  • Microsoft Teams Calling

If your team lives in Teams, we connect it to the phone network with Microsoft Teams Calling via Direct Routing. You keep your existing Microsoft licences; we do not resell them.

  • One bill for internet, phones and mobile

Internet, phones and business mobile SIM plans sit on one Summit bill, alongside 1300 and 1800 numbers, fax to email and on-hold messaging.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

List your telco.sydney services: business nbn or fibre, voice users, phone numbers and handsets. A recent bill is the easiest starting point.

  2. 2 Get a quote and a plan

We recommend the right internet and phone setup for each site and time the change to suit your contract end date.

  3. 3 Install your connection

We install your Summit internet service first, so the new connection is ready before any calls move.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

We lodge the port of your existing numbers. Keep your telco.sydney voice service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Go live, then cancel

Handsets can be preconfigured and shipped ready to plug in. Once your numbers are working on Summit, you can arrange to cancel the old services.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of telco.sydney?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with telco.sydney in any way.
Why switch if my telco.sydney service is working?
If your current services do everything your business needs, there may be no reason to change. Businesses usually look at Summit when a contract is ending, when they are moving office, or when they want internet and phones from one carrier on a single bill.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with telco.sydney. Check your contract terms before you switch. We can time the move so your new services go live as your current contract ends.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes. We port your existing numbers to Summit. Keep your telco.sydney voice service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
Can I keep my existing VoIP handsets?
Tell us the make and model of your handsets and we will let you know. If you need new handsets for our Hosted PBX, we can preconfigure and ship them.
What do I get with Summit's Hosted PBX?
Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month with every feature included: auto attendant and IVR, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording, and mobile and desktop apps.
Do you offer business nbn outside Sydney?
Yes. Summit's Business nbn is available nationally, with a static IP included. Full-fibre nbn plans run up to 2000/500 Mbps.
Can I move my internet and phones at the same time?
Yes. We usually install your internet connection first, then port your numbers onto Summit once the connection is live. Keep your telco.sydney voice service active until the port completes.
