Overview

Team Telecom describes itself as an Australian owned and operated business telecommunications provider. It offers business phone lines and systems, SIP trunks, business hosted PBX, 13, 1300 and 1800 numbers, business-grade nbn and nbn Enterprise Ethernet, alongside business mobile plans and IT managed services.

Businesses review their provider for ordinary reasons: a contract is ending, the office is moving, or they want internet and phones from one carrier that deals only with businesses. If any of those apply to you, it is worth comparing what else is available before you renew.

Summit offers business nbn with a static IP included, Ethernet over fibre, fixed wireless across Melbourne and regional Victoria, a cloud phone system, SIP trunks for your existing phone system, Microsoft Teams Calling and 1300 and 1800 numbers, all on a network we build, own and operate. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Team Telecom.

How Summit Helps

  • A Business-Only Carrier

Summit does not sell residential services. Every product, plan and support process is built around what businesses need, and we have been doing it for 26 years.

  • SIP Trunks for Your Existing Phone System

If you have an on-premises phone system you want to keep, Summit SIP trunks connect it to the phone network. Start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volumes change.

  • A Cloud Phone System With Every Feature Included

Summit Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month with auto attendant, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps all included. We can preconfigure handsets and ship them to you.

  • Business nbn With a Static IP

Business nbn is available nationally with a static IP included, at up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. Where you need a dedicated connection, we also offer Ethernet over fibre.

  • Your 1300 and 1800 Numbers

We provide 1300 and 1800 inbound numbers, plus fax to email and on-hold messaging, so the numbers your customers already know can keep working on Summit.

  • Voice Traffic Prioritised on Our Network

When your internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS, so calls are not competing with downloads and backups on the same link.

  • 4G Backup for When the Line Drops

4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back automatically when your main connection returns.

  • One Carrier, One Bill

Internet, phones and business mobile SIM plans on one bill, from a carrier with its own network and Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres, with DDoS protection as standard.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

Send us a list of your current services, such as nbn or Enterprise Ethernet links, SIP trunks or hosted phone system, and inbound numbers, along with your contract end date.

  2. 2 Get a proposal

We recommend the right internet and voice setup for each site and give you a clear quote.

  3. 3 Install your connection

We install your new internet service and set up your phone system or SIP trunks before anything is switched over.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

We lodge the port for your existing numbers. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Cancel the old services

Once your numbers are live on Summit and everything is tested, you cancel your remaining services with your old provider.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Team Telecom?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with Team Telecom in any way.
Why switch if my Team Telecom service is working?
If your current services do everything your business needs, there may be no reason to change. Businesses usually review their provider when a contract is ending, when they are moving office, or when they want internet and phones from a single business-only carrier.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with Team Telecom. Check your contract terms for any early termination fees. The simplest approach is to time your switch to line up with your contract end date, and we can plan the move around it.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes. We can port your existing numbers, including 1300 and 1800 numbers, to Summit. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
Can I keep my existing phone system?
If your phone system supports SIP, you can usually connect it to Summit SIP trunks and keep using it. If you would rather move to the cloud, our Hosted PBX includes every feature from $10 per user per month.
Do you offer business nbn?
Yes. Summit business nbn is available nationally with a static IP included, at up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. We also offer Ethernet over fibre and 4G Static IP.
Can I move my mobiles as well?
Yes. Summit offers business mobile SIM plans, so you can have internet, phones and mobiles on one bill.
Do you sell residential services?
No. Summit is business-only and has been serving Australian businesses for 26 years.
