Overview

TDP Communications is an Australian-owned telecommunications provider for small and medium businesses. It sells business broadband (nbn, dedicated fibre and 4G/5G failover), SIP trunks, a hosted voice phone system and business mobile plans, alongside cyber security, managed IT, networking and Microsoft 365 services.

Businesses review their telco for plenty of reasons: a contract is ending, the team is moving office, or they want their internet and phones to come from one carrier that builds and runs its own network and deals only with businesses.

Summit offers business nbn with a static IP included, ethernet over fibre, 4G backup, SIP trunks, a cloud phone system and business mobile plans, all on one bill. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with TDP Communications.

How Summit Helps

  • A Licensed, Business-Only Carrier

Summit holds ACMA Carrier Licence #388 and does not sell residential services. We have been connecting Australian businesses for 26 years.

  • Our Own Network

We build, own and operate our network, with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres. DDoS protection is included as standard.

  • Business nbn With a Static IP

Our business nbn plans include a static IP and run up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. For sites that need a dedicated connection, we also provide ethernet over fibre.

  • 4G Backup That Fails Over Automatically

4G Backup switches to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, if your fixed connection drops, then fails back automatically when it returns.

  • SIP Trunks for Your Existing Phone System

Keep the phone system you already have and connect it with SIP trunks. Start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volumes change.

  • A Cloud Phone System With Every Feature Included

Our Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month with auto attendant, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps included. Handsets can be preconfigured and shipped to you.

  • Voice Prioritised on Your Connection

When your internet connection is also with Summit, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS, so calls are not competing with downloads and backups.

  • Business Mobiles on the Same Bill

Add business mobile SIM plans and keep internet, phones and mobiles on one bill from one carrier.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

Share your current internet, SIP or phone system setup, how many users and numbers you have, and when your agreement ends.

  2. 2 Get a recommendation and quote

We design the right mix of internet, backup and voice services for each site and send you a clear quote.

  3. 3 Install your connection

We arrange your Summit internet service and backup so it is ready before your phones move.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

We lodge the port for your existing numbers. Keep your current TDP Communications service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Go live

Your calls arrive on Summit, your team is set up on the new system, and you can then arrange to cancel the old services.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of TDP Communications?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with TDP Communications.
Why switch if my TDP Communications service is working?
If your current services do everything you need, there may be no reason to change. Businesses usually review their provider when a contract is ending, they are moving office, or they want internet and phones from one carrier that runs its own network.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with TDP Communications. Check your contract terms, and if possible time your switch to line up with the end of your current term.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes, existing numbers can be ported to Summit. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
Can I keep my existing phone system?
In most cases, yes. Our SIP trunks connect compatible phone systems, starting from 2 channels. If you would rather move to the cloud, our Hosted PBX is another option.
Do you provide business nbn outside Melbourne?
Yes. Our business nbn is available nationally and includes a static IP.
What happens if my internet connection drops?
With 4G Backup, your connection fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network and fails back when your fixed service returns.
Do you sell Microsoft 365 licences?
No. We provide Microsoft Teams Calling via Direct Routing, but we do not resell Microsoft licences.
Can I get 1300 or 1800 numbers from Summit?
Yes. We provide 1300 and 1800 inbound numbers, plus fax to email and on-hold messaging.
