Overview

TBC Telecom sells telecommunications services to Australian businesses, mainly small and medium businesses. Its range covers hosted PBX and cloud voice with IP desk phones and softphones, SIP trunking, business internet over nbn and fibre, business mobile plans, and 13, 1300 and 1800 inbound numbers.

Businesses review their provider for plenty of reasons: a contract is ending, the team is moving office, or they want their phones and the internet connection those phones run over to come from a carrier that owns its network and deals only with businesses.

Summit offers a cloud phone system, SIP trunks, 1300 and 1800 numbers, business nbn with a static IP, Ethernet over fibre, 4G backup and business mobiles, all on one bill. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with TBC Telecom.

How Summit Helps

  • A Business-Only Carrier

Summit does not sell residential services. Every product, plan and support process is built around what businesses need, and we have been doing it for 26 years.

  • Our Own Network

Summit builds, owns and operates its network, with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres. DDoS protection comes as standard on our internet services.

  • A Cloud Phone System With Every Feature Included

Our Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month with auto attendant, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps included. We can preconfigure handsets and ship them to your office ready to plug in.

  • SIP Trunks for the Phone System You Already Have

If you are happy with your existing phone system, connect it to Summit SIP trunks. Start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volume changes.

  • Business nbn With a Static IP

Business nbn comes with a static IP included, with speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. For sites that need more, we also offer Ethernet over fibre.

  • Calls That Get Priority

When your internet connection is also with Summit, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS, so calls are not competing with large downloads and video meetings on the same link.

  • 4G Backup That Fails Over Automatically

4G Backup switches your connection to Australia's biggest mobile network (98.8% population coverage) if the primary service drops, then fails back automatically when it returns.

  • Inbound Numbers and Mobiles on the Same Bill

Keep your 1300 and 1800 numbers, add fax to email and on-hold messaging, and put business mobile SIM plans on the same account as your internet and phones.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

Send us a recent bill or a list of your services: phone numbers, handsets, SIP channels, internet connections and mobiles. We map each one to a Summit equivalent.

  2. 2 Get a quote

We quote the phone system, internet and mobiles together so you can see the whole picture before committing.

  3. 3 Install your internet and set up your phones

We connect your business nbn or fibre service and configure your Hosted PBX or SIP trunks, with handsets preconfigured where you need them.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

We lodge the port of your existing numbers. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Cancel the old services

Once your numbers are live on Summit and everything is tested, you cancel the remaining services with your previous provider.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

  • Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of TBC Telecom?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with TBC Telecom.
Why switch if my TBC Telecom service is working?
If your current services do everything you need, there may be no reason to switch. Businesses usually review their provider when a contract is ending, when they are moving office or adding staff, or when they want phones, internet and mobiles from one business-only carrier that owns its network.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on the terms of your agreement with your current provider. Check your contract end date and any early termination fees, and time the switch to your contract end where possible. We can plan the move around that date.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes, existing numbers, including 1300 and 1800 numbers, can generally be ported to Summit. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
Can I keep my existing phone system?
Often, yes. If your phone system supports SIP, you can connect it to Summit SIP trunks, starting from 2 channels. If you would rather move to the cloud, our Hosted PBX replaces the on-site system.
Do you offer Microsoft Teams Calling?
Yes, Summit provides Teams Calling via Direct Routing. We do not resell Microsoft licences, so you keep those with your current Microsoft provider.
What internet options do you have?
Business nbn with a static IP included, up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn, plus Ethernet over fibre and 4G Static IP. In Melbourne and regional Victoria we also offer fixed wireless.
Can I move my business mobiles as well?
Yes. Summit offers business mobile SIM plans, so your mobiles can sit on the same bill as your internet and phones.
