Overview

Sweet Telecom is a Sydney-based business telecommunications provider that says it launched in 2010 and serves businesses across Australia. It sells business nbn and internet, SIP lines and business phone lines, a cloud phone system called CloudPBX, and 1300 numbers. Its website describes Sweet Networks as one of its service providers.

Businesses review their provider for plenty of reasons: a contract is ending, they are moving office, the business has grown, or they want internet and phones from one carrier that builds and operates its own network, so one provider is responsible for both the connection and the calls.

Summit offers business nbn with a static IP included, SIP trunks for the phone system you already own, a Hosted PBX cloud phone system, Microsoft Teams Calling and 1300 and 1800 numbers. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Sweet Telecom or Sweet Networks.

How Summit Helps

  • A Business-Only Carrier

Summit does not sell residential services. Every product, plan and support process is built around what businesses need, and we have been doing it for 26 years.

  • Business nbn With a Static IP Included

Business nbn is available nationally with a static IP included, up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. Where you need more, we also offer Ethernet over fibre, and in Melbourne and regional Victoria, fixed wireless across 500+ suburbs.

  • SIP Trunks for the Phone System You Already Own

If your PBX runs on Sweet SIP lines today, Summit SIP trunks can take over. They start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volumes change.

  • A Cloud Phone System With Every Feature Included

Moving from CloudPBX? Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month and includes auto attendant, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps. We can preconfigure your handsets and ship them to you.

  • 1300 and 1800 Numbers, Fax to Email and On-Hold Messaging

Bring your 1300 and 1800 numbers across, and add fax to email and on-hold messaging alongside your phones.

  • Voice Prioritised When the Internet Is Ours Too

When your internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS, so calls get priority over the rest of the traffic on your connection.

  • A Network We Build and Operate

Our network has Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres and DDoS protection as standard. 4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back when your main service returns.

  • Internet, Phones and Mobile on One Bill

Add business mobile SIM plans or Microsoft Teams Calling and your internet, phones and mobiles arrive on one bill from one carrier.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

List your Sweet Telecom services, such as nbn, SIP lines, CloudPBX users and 1300 numbers, plus your contract end date and the phone system you use.

  2. 2 Get a quote

We recommend internet and voice services to match how you work, and send you a written quote.

  3. 3 Connect your new services

We order your internet, configure your SIP trunks or Hosted PBX, and preconfigure and ship handsets if you need them.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

We port your existing numbers across. Keep your Sweet Telecom services active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Cancel once you are live

When your numbers have moved and your internet and calls are working on Summit, you close the old services.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Sweet Telecom?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with Sweet Telecom or Sweet Networks.
Why switch if my Sweet Telecom service is working?
If your current services do everything you need, there may be no reason to switch. Businesses usually look at Summit when a contract is ending, they are moving office, or they want internet and phones from one business-only carrier.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with Sweet Telecom. Check your contract end date and any early termination terms, and we can time the switch to line up with the end of your contract.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes, existing numbers, including 1300 and 1800 numbers, can be ported to Summit. Keep your Sweet Telecom service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
Can I keep my existing phone system?
If you own an IP-capable PBX, SIP trunks connect it to Summit, starting from 2 channels. If you would rather move to the cloud, our Hosted PBX includes every feature.
Can I move my internet and phones at different times?
Yes. Our phone services work over your existing business internet, so you can move voice first and internet later, or the other way around. When your internet is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS.
Is business nbn available outside Victoria?
Yes. Business nbn is available nationally with a static IP included. Our fixed wireless network covers Melbourne and regional Victoria only.
Do you support Microsoft Teams calling?
Yes. We provide Teams Calling through Direct Routing. Summit does not resell Microsoft licences, so you keep those with your current Microsoft provider.
