Overview
StarX Communications Pty Ltd is an Australian provider with Brisbane support that serves customers Australia wide. It sells a hosted PBX cloud phone system, Microsoft Teams direct routing, SIP trunking, 1300 and 1800 numbers, fibre and nbn internet, IP phone equipment, and email, domain and web hosting services.
Businesses review their phone and internet provider for plenty of reasons: a contract is ending, the team is moving office, or they want their phones and the internet connection those phones run over to come from one carrier that deals only with businesses.
Summit offers a cloud phone system, SIP trunks, Microsoft Teams Calling and 1300 and 1800 numbers, plus business nbn with a static IP, 4G backup and business mobiles, all on a network we build, own and operate. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with StarX Communications.
How Summit Helps
-
A Business-Only Carrier
Summit does not sell residential services. Every product, plan and support process is built around what businesses need, and we have been doing it for 26 years.
-
A Cloud Phone System With Every Feature Included
Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month and includes auto attendant and IVR, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps. Every feature is included, so there is nothing extra to add per user.
-
Handsets Ready to Plug In
If your team uses desk phones, we can preconfigure the handsets and ship them to you, so they work as soon as they are plugged in.
-
Microsoft Teams Calling
If your staff already make calls from Teams, Teams Calling connects Teams to the phone network through Direct Routing, so they keep calling on their business numbers. You keep buying your Microsoft licences as you do now, because Summit does not resell them.
-
SIP Trunks for a Phone System You Own
Running your own PBX? SIP trunks start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volumes change.
-
1300 and 1800 Numbers
Bring your inbound numbers across with the rest of your voice services, along with fax to email and on-hold messaging.
-
Business nbn With Voice Prioritised
Our business nbn includes a static IP, with speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. When your internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised so calls are not competing with downloads.
-
4G Backup and One Bill
Add 4G Backup for automatic failover to Australia's biggest mobile network and automatic fail-back. Internet, phones and mobile then arrive on one bill.

- 1 Tell us what you have
Tell us what you have
Let us know your current StarX Communications services, how many users and numbers you have, and when your agreement ends.
- 2 Get a quote
Get a quote
We recommend a Hosted PBX, Teams Calling or SIP trunk setup, plus internet if you want it, and quote it clearly.
- 3 Set up and test
Set up and test
We build your call flows, ring groups and voicemail, and preconfigure and ship any handsets, before your numbers move.
- 4 Port your numbers
Port your numbers
We lodge the port for your existing numbers. Keep your StarX Communications service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
- 5 Cancel the old service
Cancel the old service
Once your numbers are live on Summit, you can arrange to cancel your old services with StarX Communications.

We recently moved our dental practice over to Summit for phone services, and the experience has been excellent from start to finish. The team has been responsive, professional, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire setup process. The transition was smooth, any issues were addressed promptly, and communication was always clear and efficient. Reliable phones and internet are essential for a busy practice like ours, and Summit has delivered exactly that. A special thank you to Michael for his patience and ongoing assistance during the transition. Highly recommend Summit to any business looking for reliable service and great customer support.Read more

After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Whole process took less than a week, and is super cost effective. Highly recommend.Read more
