Overview

Spectrum Networks is an Australian-owned, business-focused internet service provider whose history goes back to Spectrum Consulting in 1991. It sells business internet including dedicated fibre, NBN Enterprise Ethernet, dark fibre and microwave, along with network design and deployment, firewalls, colocation and voice services such as SIP trunks and Microsoft Teams calling.

Businesses review their internet provider for ordinary reasons: a contract is coming to an end, the business is moving office, a new site needs connecting, or they want internet, phones and mobile from one carrier that deals only with businesses.

Summit offers business nbn with a static IP included, Ethernet over fibre, fixed wireless across Melbourne and regional Victoria, and 4G Backup, all on a network we build, own and operate. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Spectrum Networks.

How Summit Helps

  • A Business-Only Carrier

Summit does not sell residential services. Every plan and support process is built around what businesses need, and we have been doing it for 26 years.

  • Our Own Network

We build, own and operate our network, with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres. DDoS protection is included as standard on our connections.

  • Ethernet Over Fibre for Dedicated Capacity

If your site runs on dedicated fibre today, Ethernet over fibre from Summit gives you a fibre service built for business workloads. Tell us what you use now and we will scope the right replacement.

  • Business nbn With a Static IP Included

Business nbn is available nationally with a static IP included, and speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. It suits branch offices and smaller sites that do not need a dedicated circuit.

  • Fixed Wireless in Melbourne and Regional Victoria

If your premises is in our footprint, fixed wireless runs across 500+ suburbs with symmetric speeds from 10 Mbps up to 10 Gbps, installed in 10 business days or your first month is free.

  • 4G Backup With Automatic Failover

4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back automatically when your main connection returns. A 4G Static IP service is also available.

  • Phones on the Same Network

If you also want to move your voice, we offer SIP trunks from 2 channels, a Hosted PBX cloud phone system from $10 per user per month, and Microsoft Teams Calling via Direct Routing. Voice traffic is prioritised when your internet connection is also Summit's.

  • One Bill

Internet, phones and business mobile can all sit on one Summit bill, with one carrier to call.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

Share your current services, sites and contract end dates, and we will map out what Summit would replace and when.

  2. 2 Get a quote

We check what is available at each address, whether business nbn, Ethernet over fibre or fixed wireless, and send a written quote.

  3. 3 Plan the cutover

We schedule installation so your new service is up and tested before your current service is cancelled, ideally timed to your contract end.

  4. 4 Go live

We connect your new service, set up your static IP and confirm everything works before you cancel the old service.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Spectrum Networks?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with Spectrum Networks.
Why switch if my Spectrum Networks service is working?
If your current service does everything you need, there may be no reason to switch. Businesses usually look at Summit when a contract is ending, when they are moving or adding sites, or when they want internet, phones and mobile from one carrier.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with Spectrum Networks. Check your contract terms, and if there is a minimum term, we can time your switch so the new service is ready as your contract ends.
Can Summit replace a dedicated fibre service?
In many cases, yes. We offer Ethernet over fibre for businesses that need dedicated capacity. Availability depends on your address, so send us your site details and we will confirm what we can deliver.
Do I get a static IP?
Yes. A static IP is included with Summit business nbn, and we also offer a 4G Static IP service.
What happens if my main connection drops?
With 4G Backup, your connection fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network and fails back automatically once your main service is restored.
Is fixed wireless available at my address?
Summit fixed wireless covers Melbourne and regional Victoria only. You can check your address on our coverage page. Outside that area, we can quote business nbn or Ethernet over fibre.
Can I move my phones to Summit as well?
Yes. We offer Hosted PBX, SIP trunks and Microsoft Teams Calling, and we can port your existing numbers. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported.
Will there be downtime when I switch?
We aim to have your new service installed and tested before you cancel the old one, so the cutover is planned rather than rushed.
