Overview

SkySmart is an Australian-owned provider based in Subiaco, Western Australia. It sells business nbn and fibre, VoIP and cloud PBX phone systems, 4G and 5G backup, firewalls, SD-WAN and managed IT services to businesses, along with residential nbn and fibre plans.

Businesses usually review their provider at a natural decision point: a contract coming to an end, a move to a new office, or a decision to put internet and phones with one carrier that deals only with businesses.

Summit offers business nbn with a static IP included, Ethernet over fibre, 4G backup, a cloud phone system, SIP trunks and Microsoft Teams Calling, all on a network we build, own and operate. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with SkySmart.

How Summit Helps

  • A Business-Only Carrier

Summit does not sell residential services. Every product, plan and support process is built around what businesses need, and we have been doing it for 26 years.

  • Business nbn With a Static IP

Business nbn is available nationally with a static IP included, up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. It suits offices running remote access, cameras, VPNs or hosted servers.

  • Ethernet Over Fibre for Larger Sites

Where a site needs dedicated capacity, Ethernet over fibre is available. In Melbourne and regional Victoria, fixed wireless is another option, with symmetric speeds from 10 Mbps up to 10 Gbps.

  • 4G Backup That Fails Over Automatically

4G Backup switches your connection to Australia's biggest mobile network (98.8% population coverage) if your primary link drops, then fails back automatically when it returns.

  • A Cloud Phone System With Every Feature Included

Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month with auto attendant, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps all included. Handsets can be preconfigured and shipped to you.

  • SIP Trunks for Your Existing Phone System

If you want to keep your current phone system, SIP trunks start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volume changes.

  • Microsoft Teams Calling

If your team lives in Teams, Teams Calling via Direct Routing lets staff make and take business calls from Teams. You keep your existing Microsoft licensing; Summit does not resell Microsoft licences.

  • Internet, Phones and Mobile on One Bill

When your internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS. Add business mobile SIM plans and 1300 and 1800 numbers, and everything sits on one bill.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

Share your current internet services, phone numbers, handsets and contract end dates so we can plan around them.

  2. 2 Get a tailored quote

We recommend the right connection and phone setup for each site and confirm what is available at your address.

  3. 3 Install the connection and set up phones

We arrange your internet service, configure your Hosted PBX, SIP trunks or Teams Calling, and preconfigure handsets if you need them.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

Keep your SkySmart service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Cancel the old services

Once your numbers have moved and everything is working, you cancel your remaining SkySmart services.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of SkySmart?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with SkySmart.
Why switch if my SkySmart service is working?
If your current services do everything your business needs, there may be no reason to switch. Many businesses review their options when a contract is ending, when they are moving office, or when they want internet and phones from one business-only carrier.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with SkySmart. Check your contract terms, and where possible time the switch to line up with your contract end date.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes, existing numbers can be ported to Summit. Keep your SkySmart service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
Can I keep my existing phone system?
Often, yes. If your phone system supports SIP, SIP trunks can connect it to Summit. Otherwise our Hosted PBX replaces it with a cloud phone system.
Does Summit offer business nbn outside Victoria?
Yes. Business nbn with a static IP included is available nationally. Summit's fixed wireless network covers Melbourne and regional Victoria only.
Do you offer backup internet?
Yes. 4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network if your primary connection drops, and fails back automatically when it returns.
Can I move my 1300 or 1800 number?
Yes. Summit provides 1300 and 1800 inbound numbers, and existing numbers can be ported across.
