Overview

SIPcity is the trading name of Blast Technologies Pty Ltd, an Australian business communications provider. It sells a cloud business phone system, SIP trunking, Microsoft Teams Direct Routing, unified communications, virtual numbers including 1300 and 1800, virtual fax, and nbn business internet, both directly and through a partner network of PBX providers and system integrators.

Businesses review their phone provider for ordinary reasons: a contract coming to an end, an office move, a new phone system, or wanting internet and phones from a single carrier that only serves businesses. If any of those apply to you, it is worth comparing your options before you renew.

Summit Internet has been a business carrier for 26 years. We run a Hosted PBX from $10 per user per month with every feature included, SIP trunks for your existing phone system, Microsoft Teams Calling via Direct Routing and 1300 and 1800 numbers, all alongside business nbn with a static IP included.

Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with SIPcity or Blast Technologies.

How Summit Helps

  • A cloud phone system with every feature included

Our Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month and includes auto attendant and IVR, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps. There are no feature tiers to work through.

  • SIP trunks for the phone system you already have

If you run your own PBX, our SIP trunks connect it to the network. Start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volumes change.

  • Microsoft Teams Calling via Direct Routing

Make and take external calls inside Teams with Direct Routing on Summit's voice network. You keep your existing Microsoft licences, as Summit does not resell them.

  • Keep your numbers, including 1300 and 1800

We port your existing local numbers and 1300 and 1800 inbound numbers, so customers keep calling the numbers they already know.

  • Fax to email and on-hold messaging

Fax to email is available for businesses that still receive faxes, and on-hold messaging keeps callers informed while they wait.

  • Phones and internet from one carrier

Pair your phones with business nbn, up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn with a static IP included. When the internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS.

  • Handsets ready to plug in

We can preconfigure handsets and ship them to your office, so your team can plug in and start making calls.

  • Stay online when the line drops

Add 4G Backup for automatic failover to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and automatic fail-back when your main service returns.

How It Works

  1. 1 Talk to us

Tell us how many users, numbers and sites you have, and whether you use a cloud phone system, SIP trunks or Teams. We recommend a setup and send a quote.

  2. 2 Check your contract

Look at your current agreement so the switch lines up with the end of your term and you avoid unnecessary exit fees.

  3. 3 Set up your new service

We build your phone system or trunks, configure call flows, and preconfigure and ship any handsets you need.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

We lodge the port of your existing numbers. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Go live

Once your numbers arrive, calls ring on Summit and you can cancel your old service.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of SIPcity?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with SIPcity or Blast Technologies.
Why switch if my SIPcity service is working?
If your current service does everything you need, there may be no reason to switch. Businesses usually compare providers when a contract is ending, they are moving office, they want internet and phones from one carrier, or they would prefer a provider that only serves businesses.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with your current provider. Check your terms before you switch, and where possible time the move to the end of your contract.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes, existing numbers can be ported to Summit, including 1300 and 1800 numbers. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
I use SIP trunks with my own phone system. Can Summit connect it?
Yes. Summit SIP trunks connect to your existing phone system, starting from 2 channels and scaling up or down as you need.
Can I use Microsoft Teams for calls with Summit?
Yes. We provide Teams Calling via Direct Routing. Summit does not resell Microsoft licences, so you keep the licensing you already have.
What does Summit's Hosted PBX cost?
Our Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month, with every feature included: auto attendant and IVR, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording, and mobile and desktop apps.
Can I move my internet to Summit as well?
Yes. Summit offers business nbn nationally with a static IP included, Ethernet over fibre, and fixed wireless in Melbourne and regional Victoria. When your internet is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS.
