Overview

SIP Connect is a business phone and internet provider operated by U.B.R. Pty Ltd, with its office in Greensborough in Melbourne's north east. It sells SIP trunks, 3CX and hosted phone systems, Microsoft Teams calling, 1300 and 1800 numbers, and business internet including nbn, fibre and 5G fixed wireless.

Businesses review their provider for ordinary reasons: a contract is ending, they are moving office, they want internet and phones from one carrier that runs its own network, or they want a provider that deals only with businesses.

Summit offers SIP trunks for the phone system you already have, a cloud phone system, Microsoft Teams Calling, business nbn with a static IP and Ethernet over fibre, all on a network we build, own and operate. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with SIP Connect.

How Summit Helps

  • SIP Trunks for Your Existing Phone System

If you run 3CX or another SIP-capable phone system, our SIP trunks connect it to the phone network. Start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volumes change.

  • A Cloud Phone System With Every Feature Included

Prefer to move off a self-managed system? Our Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month and includes auto attendant, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps. We can preconfigure your handsets and ship them to you.

  • Microsoft Teams Calling

Make and receive calls in Microsoft Teams through Direct Routing. We provide the calling service; your Microsoft licences stay with your existing Microsoft provider.

  • Business nbn With a Static IP

Business nbn is available nationally with a static IP included, and speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. For sites that need dedicated capacity, we offer Ethernet over fibre. In Melbourne and regional Victoria, our own fixed wireless network is also available.

  • Voice Prioritised on Our Network

When your internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS, so calls are not competing with downloads and cloud backups.

  • Inbound Numbers and Backup

Keep your 1300 and 1800 numbers, fax to email and on-hold messaging with us, and add 4G Backup, which fails over to Australia's biggest mobile network (98.8% population coverage) and fails back automatically.

  • Business Mobile on the Same Bill

Add business mobile SIM plans so your internet, phones and mobiles sit with one provider and arrive on one bill.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

Share your current SIP trunks or phone system, internet services, mobiles and contract end dates, and we will map out the equivalent Summit services.

  2. 2 Get a clear quote

We recommend the right connection, SIP trunks or cloud phone system for your business and put it in writing.

  3. 3 Install and test

We install your Summit internet and set up your trunks or phone system while your existing services keep running.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

We lodge the port for your existing numbers. Keep your old service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Cancel the old services

Once your numbers have moved and everything is working, you cancel your previous services.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of SIP Connect?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier (ACMA Carrier Licence #388) and is not affiliated with SIP Connect or U.B.R. Pty Ltd. We build, own and operate our own network.
Why switch if my SIP Connect service is working?
If it does everything your business needs, there may be no reason to. Businesses usually look at Summit when a contract is ending, when they are moving office, or when they want internet and phones from one business-only carrier. A quote tells you whether it is worth it.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with SIP Connect, so check your contract terms first. Many businesses time the switch to their contract end date, and we can schedule installation to suit.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes. We port your existing numbers, including 1300 and 1800 numbers, to Summit. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
Can I keep my 3CX or existing phone system?
Often, yes. If your phone system supports SIP, we can connect it with SIP trunks. If you would rather move to the cloud, our Hosted PBX replaces a self-managed system entirely.
Do you support Microsoft Teams calling?
Yes. We connect Microsoft Teams to the phone network through Direct Routing. Summit does not resell Microsoft licences, so those stay with your existing Microsoft provider.
Do you provide internet nationally?
Yes. Business nbn is available to Australian businesses nationally, with a static IP included. Fixed wireless is available in Melbourne and regional Victoria only; use our coverage checker to see what is available at your address.
Will there be downtime when I switch?
We set up and test your Summit services while your existing ones are still running, and you cancel the old services only once your numbers have ported and everything is working.
