Overview

Simple Telecom Pty Ltd describes itself as an Australian business telecommunications specialist operating since 2007, and its sign-up links lead to the Simple 1300 Numbers website. Between the two sites it offers businesses 1300 and 1800 numbers, phonewords, call tracking, a hosted VoIP PBX, voice to email, Microsoft Teams calling and live call answering.

An inbound number is usually only one part of how a business takes calls. Businesses review their provider when a contract is ending, when they are moving office, or when they want their inbound numbers, phone system and internet from one carrier that deals only with businesses.

Summit offers 1300 and 1800 inbound numbers, a cloud phone system, SIP trunks, Microsoft Teams Calling, business nbn and business mobile, all on a network we build, own and operate. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Simple Telecom (Simple 1300 Numbers).

How Summit Helps

  • 1300 and 1800 Numbers From a Licensed Carrier

Summit supplies 1300 and 1800 inbound numbers for Australian businesses. You can port your existing inbound numbers across, so the numbers on your website, vehicles and advertising stay the same.

  • Inbound Calls Answered on Your Own Phone System

Point your inbound numbers at a Hosted PBX from $10 per user per month, with auto attendant, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps all included. We can preconfigure your handsets and ship them to you.

  • Microsoft Teams Calling

If your staff live in Teams, Microsoft Teams Calling via Direct Routing lets them make and take calls inside Teams. Summit does not resell Microsoft licences, so you keep those with your existing licensing arrangement.

  • SIP Trunks for the Phone System You Already Own

Keeping an on-site phone system? SIP trunks start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volumes change.

  • Fax to Email and On-Hold Messaging

Summit offers fax to email and on-hold messaging, so the smaller pieces of your phone setup can move with your numbers rather than sitting with another provider.

  • Business nbn With Voice Prioritised

Business nbn is available nationally with a static IP included, and speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. When your internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS.

  • A Backup Connection for Busy Lines

4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back automatically when your main connection returns.

  • One Bill for Phones, Internet and Mobile

Internet, phones and business mobile SIM plans sit on one bill, with one carrier responsible for all of them.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

List your 1300 and 1800 numbers, any local numbers, how calls are routed today and which phones or apps answer them.

  2. 2 We design and quote

We recommend the right mix of inbound numbers, Hosted PBX, SIP trunks or Teams Calling, plus internet if you want it, and send a written quote.

  3. 3 We set up your new service

Call routing, handsets and apps are configured on Summit before any numbers move, so calls have somewhere to land on cutover.

  4. 4 We port your numbers

Keep your Simple Telecom service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Cancel the old service

Once your numbers are live on Summit, you can arrange to close your old account.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Simple Telecom (Simple 1300 Numbers)?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with Simple Telecom or Simple 1300 Numbers.
Why switch if my Simple Telecom (Simple 1300 Numbers) service is working?
If your current service does everything you need, there may be no reason to switch. Businesses usually look at Summit when a contract is ending, when they are moving office, or when they want inbound numbers, phones and internet from one business-only carrier.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes, existing numbers can be ported to Summit, including 1300 and 1800 numbers. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
Can I keep my phoneword?
A phoneword is a 1300 or 1800 number spelled out as letters, and phonewords can generally be ported like other inbound numbers. Talk to us about the specific numbers you hold and we will confirm what is involved.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with Simple Telecom. Check your terms, and if you have a fixed term, time your switch to the end of it.
Can my 1300 number ring my mobile or Teams?
Yes. Inbound numbers on Summit can be answered on a Hosted PBX, including its mobile and desktop apps, or through Microsoft Teams Calling.
Do I need Summit internet to use Summit phones?
No. Summit voice services work over other internet connections. When your internet is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS.
