Overview

Rifatel is a telecommunications and IT provider headquartered in Carlisle, Western Australia. It sells business VoIP phone systems, nbn and fibre internet and SIM-only mobile plans, alongside cybersecurity and software development services, to both homes and businesses.

Businesses review their provider for plenty of reasons: a contract is ending, the team is moving office, or they want their internet, phones and mobiles from one carrier that deals only with businesses and runs its own network.

Summit offers business nbn with a static IP included, Ethernet over fibre, a cloud phone system, SIP trunks, 4G Backup and business mobile SIM plans, all on one bill. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Rifatel.

How Summit Helps

  • A Business-Only Carrier

Summit does not sell residential services. Every product, plan and support process is built around what businesses need, and we have been doing it for 26 years.

  • Business nbn With a Static IP Included

Business nbn is available nationally with a static IP included, and speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. Our network has Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres, with DDoS protection as standard.

  • Ethernet Over Fibre for Larger Sites

If your office has outgrown nbn, Ethernet over fibre gives you a dedicated fibre connection on Summit's network.

  • A Cloud Phone System With Every Feature Included

Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month and includes auto attendant and IVR, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps. We can preconfigure handsets and ship them to you, so they work as soon as they are plugged in.

  • SIP Trunks or Teams Calling

Keeping your own phone system? SIP trunks start from 2 channels and scale up or down. If your team works in Microsoft Teams, Teams Calling connects it to the phone network through Direct Routing, and you keep buying your Microsoft licences as you do now.

  • Voice Prioritised on the Same Network

When your internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS, so calls and data are managed by one carrier from end to end.

  • 4G Backup for When the Line Drops

4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back automatically when your main service returns.

  • Mobiles, Inbound Numbers and One Bill

Add business mobile SIM plans, 1300 and 1800 numbers, fax to email and on-hold messaging. Internet, phones and mobile arrive on one bill.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have now

List your Rifatel services, such as nbn or fibre connections, phone numbers, users and mobile SIMs, and when your agreement ends.

  2. 2 Get a quote

We recommend the right internet, phone setup and backup for each site and send you a written quote.

  3. 3 Install your internet and set up your phones

We connect your business nbn or fibre service, build your call flows and preconfigure and ship handsets if you need them.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

We port your existing numbers across. Keep your Rifatel service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Cancel once you are live

When your numbers have moved and everything is working, you cancel the old services.

Why Rifatel Customers Choose Summit

  • 01

Internet and Phones From One Carrier

Your phone system relies on the connection beneath it. With Summit, the internet, the phones and the backup all come from one carrier, so one team is responsible for the whole path.

  • 02

    A Licensed Australian Carrier

Summit holds ACMA Carrier Licence #388 and has been connecting Australian businesses since August 2000. We build, own and operate our own network.

  • 03

    Built Only for Businesses

We do not sell residential services. Our products and support are designed for businesses that depend on their connection and phones every day.

  • 04

Every Phone Feature, One Price Per User

Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month with every feature included, so adding a call queue or call recording does not change your plan.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

  • Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Whole process took less than a week, and is super cost effective. Highly recommend.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Rifatel?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with Rifatel, and this page is not endorsed by Rifatel.
Why switch if my Rifatel service is working?
If your Rifatel services do everything you need, there may be no reason to switch. Businesses usually talk to us when an agreement is ending, when they are moving office, or when they want their internet, phones and mobiles from one business-only carrier.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with Rifatel. Check your terms before you switch, and if there is a minimum term, time the move to its end. We can plan installation and porting around that date.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes, existing numbers can be ported to Summit. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
Can I move my internet and phones at the same time?
Yes. Many businesses move both together so the phones run over a Summit connection with voice prioritised. We can also stage the move, starting with internet and porting numbers once the new connection is in.
Do you offer business nbn outside Western Australia?
Yes. Business nbn is available nationally, with a static IP included and speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn.
Can I keep my existing phone system?
If you own a phone system that supports SIP, you can connect it to Summit SIP trunks, starting from 2 channels. If you would rather move to the cloud, Hosted PBX includes every feature from $10 per user per month.
Can Summit supply business mobiles too?
Yes. We offer business mobile SIM plans, and your mobiles can sit on the same bill as your internet and phones.
