Overview

Redfox is a locally owned internet provider based in Mackay, Queensland, founded in 1994. It runs its own internet infrastructure, separate from the nbn, and sells residential plans alongside business services such as business internet, private links and multi-site connections, wireless mesh networks, temporary site infrastructure and internet redundancy. Through its projects arm it also delivers fibre, point-to-point wireless, structured cabling and camera systems for commercial, port, mining and remote sites across Mackay and regional Queensland.

If your business connects through Redfox and the service does everything you need, you may have no reason to move. Businesses usually review their provider when a contract is ending, when they open or move an office, when they want internet and phones from one carrier, or when they would rather deal with a provider that only serves businesses.

Summit Internet has been a business-only carrier for 26 years. We offer Business nbn nationally with a static IP included, Ethernet over fibre, 4G Static IP and 4G Backup, and we can add a cloud phone system and mobiles to the same account. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Redfox (ITTW).

How Summit Helps

  • Business nbn with a static IP

Our Business nbn plans are available to Australian businesses nationally, with a static IP included. On full-fibre nbn, speeds go up to 2000/500 Mbps.

  • Ethernet over fibre for sites that need more

Where a site needs a dedicated fibre service, Ethernet over fibre is available. We will tell you honestly what can be delivered to your address before you commit.

  • 4G Backup that switches over automatically

4G Backup fails over to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, if your main connection drops. When the main link returns, it fails back automatically.

  • 4G Static IP for hard-to-reach sites

For a site office or remote location where a fixed service is not practical, a 4G Static IP service gives you a fixed address for remote access, cameras and equipment.

  • A network we build and run

Summit builds, owns and operates its own network, with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres. DDoS protection is included as standard.

  • Phones on the same connection

If you want to move your phones too, our Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month with every feature included, and voice traffic is prioritised when the internet connection is also Summit's.

  • One bill for internet, phones and mobile

Internet, phones and business mobile SIM plans can all sit on one account and one bill, which keeps admin simple.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

List the sites, services and any backup or static IP requirements you have today, plus when your current agreement ends.

  2. 2 We check your addresses

We confirm which Business nbn, Ethernet over fibre or 4G options are available at each site.

  3. 3 Get a clear quote

You receive a written quote for the services you need, with nothing added that you did not ask for.

  4. 4 Schedule the changeover

We book installation to suit your contract end date, so you can keep your existing service running until the new one is live.

  5. 5 Go live and cancel the old service

Once your Summit service is tested and working, you arrange cancellation of the previous service.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

  • Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Whole process took less than a week, and is super cost effective. Highly recommend.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Redfox (ITTW)?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with Redfox (ITTW) in any way.
Why switch if my Redfox (ITTW) service is working?
If your current service does everything you need, there may be no reason to switch. It is worth a review when your contract is ending, you are moving or adding a site, or you want internet, phones and mobile from one business-only carrier.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with your current provider. Check your contract terms, and if there is a fee, time your switch to line up with the end of your contract.
Does Summit offer fixed wireless in Queensland?
No. Summit's own fixed wireless network covers Melbourne and regional Victoria only. For Queensland sites we offer Business nbn, Ethernet over fibre and 4G services. If you have offices in Victoria, ask us about fixed wireless there.
Is a static IP included?
Yes. A static IP is included with our Business nbn plans.
What happens if my internet goes down?
With 4G Backup, your connection fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network and fails back when the main service returns.
Can I move my phones to Summit as well?
Yes. We offer a Hosted PBX cloud phone system, SIP trunks for existing phone systems and Microsoft Teams Calling. Existing numbers can be ported, and you keep your old service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported.
Can I keep my current service running during the changeover?
Yes, and we recommend it. Keep your existing service active until your Summit service is installed and tested, then cancel the old one.
