Overview

Reach Telecom is a Chadstone, Victoria based provider that sells business phone systems, both cloud-based and on-premise, along with internet, inbound services, Microsoft Teams Calling, Zoom services, business mobile plans and PBX maintenance. It works with government, health and small and medium businesses.

Businesses review their provider for ordinary reasons: a contract is ending, an on-premise phone system is due for replacement, the office is moving, or they want internet and phones from one carrier that deals only with businesses.

Summit offers a cloud phone system, SIP trunks for existing phone systems, Microsoft Teams Calling, 1300 and 1800 numbers, business nbn with a static IP, Ethernet over fibre and business mobile plans, all on a network we build, own and operate. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Reach Telecom.

How Summit Helps

  • A Business-Only Carrier

Summit does not sell residential services. Every product, plan and support process is built around what businesses need, and we have been doing it for 26 years.

  • A Cloud Phone System With Every Feature Included

Our Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month with auto attendant, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps all included. Handsets can be preconfigured and shipped ready to plug in.

  • SIP Trunks for the Phone System You Already Have

If your on-premise phone system still has life left in it, SIP trunks connect it to Summit's network. Start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volume changes.

  • Microsoft Teams Calling

If your staff already live in Teams, Teams Calling via Direct Routing lets them make and take business calls from it. You keep your existing Microsoft licensing, as Summit does not resell Microsoft licences.

  • 1300 and 1800 Numbers

Keep your inbound numbers working and route them where you need them. Fax to email and on-hold messaging are available too.

  • Business nbn With a Static IP

Business nbn is available nationally with a static IP included, up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. Sites that need more can move to Ethernet over fibre.

  • Voice Prioritised on Summit Internet

When your internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS. Our network has Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres and DDoS protection as standard.

  • Mobiles and Backup on the Same Bill

Add business mobile SIM plans and 4G Backup, which fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network (98.8% population coverage) and fails back when your main link returns.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

Send us a recent bill or a list of your numbers, handsets, internet services and mobiles, and when your current agreement ends.

  2. 2 Get a clear proposal

We recommend Hosted PBX, SIP trunks or Teams Calling for your phones, and the right internet connection for each site, all in one quote.

  3. 3 Install the new services first

Your internet is connected and your handsets are preconfigured before anything is switched over, so you keep working on your existing services.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

We lodge the port for your existing numbers. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Cancel the old services

Once your numbers are live on Summit, you can arrange to close the remaining services with your previous provider.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

  • Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Reach Telecom?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with Reach Telecom.
Why switch if my Reach Telecom service is working?
If your current services do everything you need, there may be no reason to change. Businesses usually look at Summit when a contract is ending, when they are moving office, when an on-premise phone system is due for replacement, or when they want phones and internet from one business-only carrier.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with Reach Telecom. Check your contract end date and any early termination terms, and we can time the switch to line up with the end of your contract.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes, existing numbers can be ported to Summit, including 1300 and 1800 numbers. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported.
How long does number porting take?
The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days. We confirm the expected timing when we lodge your port.
Can I keep my existing on-premise phone system?
Often, yes. SIP trunks connect a compatible existing phone system to Summit's network. If you would rather move to the cloud, our Hosted PBX replaces the box on the wall.
Do you support Microsoft Teams Calling?
Yes, through Direct Routing. Your users make and take calls in Teams using Summit's voice service. Summit does not resell Microsoft licences, so you keep your existing licensing arrangement.
Can I move my business mobiles as well?
Yes. Summit offers business mobile SIM plans, so your mobiles can sit on the same bill as your phones and internet.
Is fixed wireless available to my business?
Summit's fixed wireless covers Melbourne and regional Victoria only. If you are in that area, you can check coverage at your address. Business nbn is available nationally.
