Overview

Quantum Telecom Pty Ltd is an Australian telco with a postal address in Miranda, NSW. It sells business-grade nbn internet, hosted VoIP PBX phone systems, VoIP landlines, 4G/5G mobile plans and 1300/1800 inbound numbers, along with website hosting, domain names and email.

Plenty of businesses stay with the same provider for years, and that is fine if it still fits. The usual reasons to look around are a contract coming to an end, a move to a new office, a team that has grown past its current phone setup, or simply wanting internet and phones from one carrier that only deals with businesses.

Summit has been doing exactly that for 26 years. We build, own and operate our own network, supply Business nbn with a static IP included, run a full-featured Hosted PBX cloud phone system, and look after 1300 and 1800 numbers and business mobile plans. When your phones and internet are both on Summit, your voice traffic is prioritised across the connection.

Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Quantum Telecom.

How Summit Helps

  • Business nbn with a static IP included

Business nbn is available nationally, with a static IP included and speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. It is a business service on a business network, not a home plan with a different label.

  • A cloud phone system with every feature included

Our Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month, and auto attendant, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps are all included. There are no feature tiers to work out.

  • Handsets ready to plug in

If you are replacing desk phones as part of the move, we can preconfigure handsets and ship them to your office. Your staff plug them in and start taking calls.

  • Keep your 1300, 1800 and local numbers

We port existing numbers across, including inbound 1300 and 1800 numbers. Your customers keep dialling the same numbers they always have.

  • Voice prioritised over your own connection

When your internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS. Calls are not left competing with large downloads and video meetings.

  • Business mobile on the same account

Business mobile SIM plans sit on the same bill as your internet and phones, so there is one account to manage.

  • 4G Backup for when the line drops

4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back when your main service returns.

  • Fixed wireless in Melbourne and regional Victoria

If your office is in Melbourne or regional Victoria, our fixed wireless runs over Summit's own network across 500+ suburbs, with symmetric speeds from 10 Mbps up to 10 Gbps.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

List your current services: internet, phone numbers, handsets, 1300 or 1800 numbers and mobiles. A recent bill is the quickest way to capture it.

  2. 2 Get a clear quote

We recommend the internet, phone system and mobile plans that fit how your business works, and send a written quote.

  3. 3 Install internet and set up phones

We connect your new internet service and configure your Hosted PBX, call flows and handsets before anything changes over.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

We lodge the port for your existing numbers. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Cancel the old services

Once your numbers are live on Summit and everything is working, you cancel the remaining services with your old provider.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Quantum Telecom?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with Quantum Telecom in any way.
Why switch if my Quantum Telecom service is working?
If your current services do everything your business needs, there may be no reason to switch. Businesses usually review their provider when a contract is ending, when they are moving office, when their phone needs have changed, or when they want internet, phones and mobile from one business-only carrier.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on the agreement you have with Quantum Telecom. Check your contract end date and any early termination terms, and we can time your switch to line up with the end of the contract.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes. We can port your existing local numbers and your 1300 and 1800 numbers. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported.
How long does number porting take?
The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days. We set up your new phone system first so calls move over cleanly once the port completes.
Do you offer business nbn with a static IP?
Yes. A static IP is included with Summit's Business nbn, with speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn.
Can I move my mobiles to Summit as well?
Yes. Summit offers business mobile SIM plans, so your mobiles can sit on the same bill as your internet and phones.
Do you sell to home users?
No. Summit is business-only and does not sell residential services.
