Overview

Phone Cloud (phonecloud.com.au) sells cloud phone services to Australian businesses, including hosted PBX plans, SIP trunking, Microsoft Teams Direct Routing, 1300 and 1800 numbers, virtual mobile numbers, a webphone, call centre features such as IVR and queues, and nbn and VoIP plans for business.

Businesses review their phone provider for plenty of reasons: a contract is ending, the team is moving office, they are adding staff or a call queue, or they want their phones and the internet connection those phones depend on to come from one carrier that deals only with businesses.

Summit offers a cloud phone system, SIP trunks, Microsoft Teams Calling and 1300 and 1800 numbers, plus business nbn with a static IP, 4G backup and business mobiles, all on a network we build, own and operate. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Phone Cloud.

How Summit Helps

  • A Business-Only Carrier

Summit does not sell residential services. Every product, plan and support process is built around what businesses need, and we have been doing it for 26 years.

  • A Cloud Phone System With Every Feature Included

Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month and includes auto attendant and IVR, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps. Every feature is included, so there are no add-ons to work out per user.

  • Desk Phones Ready to Plug In

If your team prefers a handset to an app, we can preconfigure the handsets and ship them to you, so they work as soon as they are plugged in.

  • SIP Trunks for a Phone System You Own

Running your own PBX? SIP trunks start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volumes change.

  • Microsoft Teams Calling

If your team works in Teams, Teams Calling connects it to the phone network through Direct Routing, so staff make and take calls on their business numbers from Teams. You keep buying your Microsoft licences as you do now.

  • 1300 and 1800 Numbers on the Same Account

Keep your 1300 and 1800 inbound numbers working alongside your phone system, with fax to email and on-hold messaging available too.

  • Voice Prioritised on Your Own Carrier's Network

When your internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS. Business nbn comes with a static IP included, with speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn, and our network has Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres with DDoS protection as standard.

  • 4G Backup and One Bill

4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back automatically when your main service returns. Add business mobile SIM plans and your internet, phones and mobile arrive on one bill.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us how you use your phones

List your Phone Cloud numbers, including any 1300 or 1800 numbers, your users, call flows and queues, and when your agreement ends.

  2. 2 Get a quote

We recommend the right phone setup, whether Hosted PBX, Teams Calling or SIP trunks, plus internet and backup if you want them, and send you a written quote.

  3. 3 Set up your phone system

We build your auto attendant, ring groups and queues to match how your team works, and preconfigure and ship handsets if you need them.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

We port your existing numbers across. Keep your Phone Cloud service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Cancel once you are live

When your numbers have moved and calls are working, you cancel the old service.

Why Phone Cloud Customers Choose Summit

  • 01

Phones and Internet From One Carrier

A cloud phone system is only as good as the connection under it. With Summit, the phone system, the internet connection and the backup all come from one carrier, so one team is responsible for the whole path a call takes.

  • 02

    A Licensed Australian Carrier

Summit holds ACMA Carrier Licence #388 and has been connecting Australian businesses since August 2000. We build, own and operate our own network.

  • 03

Every Feature, One Price Per User

Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month with every feature included, so adding a call queue or call recording does not change your plan.

  • 04

    Built Only for Businesses

We do not sell residential services. Our products and support are designed for businesses that depend on their phones every day.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

  • Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Whole process took less than a week, and is super cost effective. Highly recommend.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Phone Cloud?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with Phone Cloud, and this page is not endorsed by Phone Cloud.
Why switch if my Phone Cloud service is working?
If Phone Cloud does everything you need, there may be no reason to switch. Businesses usually talk to us when a contract is ending, when they are moving office, or when they want their phone system, internet and mobiles from one business-only carrier.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes. We port your existing numbers to Summit. Keep your Phone Cloud service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with Phone Cloud. Check your terms, and if there is a minimum term, we can plan the switch so your Summit service is ready when it ends.
Can I keep my 1300 or 1800 number?
Yes. We provide 1300 and 1800 inbound numbers, and existing inbound numbers can be ported across in the same way as your other numbers.
What kind of phone system does Summit offer?
Hosted PBX is our cloud phone system, from $10 per user per month with auto attendant and IVR, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps included. We also offer Microsoft Teams Calling through Direct Routing and SIP trunks for phone systems you own.
Can my team make calls from their mobiles and computers?
Yes. Hosted PBX includes mobile and desktop apps, so staff can make and take calls on their business numbers away from a desk phone.
Do I need to move my internet to Summit too?
No. Our phone services work over your existing connection. If you would like your internet with us as well, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS when the connection is also Summit's, and you get one bill for internet, phones and mobile.
What happens if my internet goes down?
Add 4G Backup. It fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back automatically when your main connection returns.
