Overview
Pear Telco is the trading name of Pear Australia Pty Ltd, a Baulkham Hills, NSW provider that began in 2002 as Miratec Solutions with a focus on VoIP and rebranded to Pear Australia in 2016. It sells Hosted-X, a cloud PBX for small businesses, along with cloud fax, AI receptionist tools, handsets, business nbn and mobile SIM plans. It describes medical practices as a particular focus, with phone system pages for dental, legal, childcare, workshop and accounting businesses.
Businesses review their phone provider for plenty of reasons: a contract is ending, the practice is moving premises, or they want their phones and the internet connection those phones depend on to come from one carrier that deals only with businesses.
Summit offers a cloud phone system, SIP trunks, Microsoft Teams Calling, fax to email and 1300 and 1800 numbers, plus business nbn with a static IP, 4G backup and business mobiles, all on a network we build, own and operate. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Pear Telco.
How Summit Helps
-
A Business-Only Carrier
Summit does not sell residential services. Every product, plan and support process is built around what businesses need, and we have been doing it for 26 years.
-
A Cloud Phone System With Every Feature Included
Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month and includes auto attendant and IVR, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps. Every feature is included, so there are no add-ons to work out per user.
-
Handsets Ready to Plug In
For reception desks and consult rooms, we can preconfigure handsets and ship them to you, so they work as soon as they are plugged in.
-
Fax to Email and On-Hold Messaging
Practices that still receive referrals and forms by fax can have them delivered to email. Hosted PBX also supports on-hold messaging, so callers in the queue hear useful information while they wait.
-
Phones and Internet From One Carrier
When your internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS, so calls are not competing with downloads and cloud backups. Internet, phones and mobiles arrive on one bill.
-
Business nbn With a Static IP
Business nbn is available nationally with a static IP included, at up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. Sites that need more can step up to Ethernet over fibre.
-
4G Backup That Fails Over Automatically
4G Backup switches to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, if your fixed connection drops, then fails back automatically when it returns.
-
SIP Trunks and Teams Calling
Running your own PBX? SIP trunks start from 2 channels and scale up or down. If your team works in Microsoft Teams, Teams Calling connects it to the phone network through Direct Routing. You keep buying your Microsoft licences as you do now.
How It Works
- 1 Tell us what you have
Tell us what you have
Send us a list of your numbers, handsets, users, call flows and internet services, and check your current agreement for its end date.
- 2 We design the replacement
We design the replacement
We map your auto attendant, ring groups, queues and fax numbers onto Summit's Hosted PBX, and quote internet and mobiles if you want them on the same bill.
- 3 Set up before anything moves
Set up before anything moves
We build your phone system, preconfigure and ship handsets, and install your new internet connection while your existing services keep running.
- 4 Port your numbers
Port your numbers
We lodge the port of your existing numbers. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported.
- 5 Go live, then cancel

Once your numbers are working on Summit, you can cancel the old services in line with your agreement.

We recently moved our dental practice over to Summit for phone services, and the experience has been excellent from start to finish. The team has been responsive, professional, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire setup process. The transition was smooth, any issues were addressed promptly, and communication was always clear and efficient. Reliable phones and internet are essential for a busy practice like ours, and Summit has delivered exactly that. A special thank you to Michael for his patience and ongoing assistance during the transition. Highly recommend Summit to any business looking for reliable service and great customer support.Read more

After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Whole process took less than a week, and is super cost effective. Highly recommend.Read more
