Overview

Peak Connect is a Bathurst-based telco serving customers throughout NSW. It sells Cloud PBX and VoIP phone systems, business and residential nbn, and business and personal mobile services.

Businesses review their provider for ordinary reasons: a contract coming to an end, a move to new premises, a growing team, or a preference for buying internet and phones from a carrier that only serves businesses. If any of those apply to you, it is worth comparing what else is available.

Summit Internet provides a cloud phone system, business nbn with a static IP included, 4G backup and business mobile plans to Australian businesses, all on one bill. We can port your existing numbers so your customers keep calling the same lines.

Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Peak Connect.

How Summit Helps

  • A cloud phone system with every feature included

Summit's Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month, with auto attendant, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email and call recording included. Staff can take calls on desk phones, mobile apps or desktop apps.

  • Business nbn with a static IP included

Our business nbn plans come with a static IP as standard, and full-fibre nbn connections run at up to 2000/500 Mbps. That suits remote access, VPNs and hosted applications.

  • Voice and internet that work together

When your internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised (QoS) ahead of other traffic on the connection.

  • Keep your existing numbers

We can port your existing business numbers to Summit. Keep your old service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported.

  • 4G backup for when the fixed line drops

4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, which covers 98.8% of the population, and fails back once your main connection returns.

  • Business mobiles on the same bill

Add business mobile SIM plans so internet, phones and mobiles sit on one bill from one carrier.

  • Options if you keep your own phone system

If you own an on-premises phone system, SIP trunks start from 2 channels and scale up or down. If your team lives in Microsoft Teams, we offer Teams Calling via Direct Routing.

  • Handsets ready to plug in

Handsets can be preconfigured and shipped, so your team plugs them in and starts taking calls.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

Send us your current services: phone numbers, number of users, internet connection and mobiles. We will check your address and recommend the right mix.

  2. 2 Get a written quote

You receive a clear quote for hosted phones, internet and mobiles, and we help you time the switch to your current contract end date.

  3. 3 Install your new connection

We connect your business nbn or other service and set up your phone system, with handsets preconfigured and shipped if you need them.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

We lodge the port for your existing numbers. Keep your old service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Cancel the old services

Once your numbers are live on Summit and everything is working, you cancel the remaining services with your previous provider.

Why Peak Connect Customers Choose Summit

  • 01

An independent carrier, not a reseller

Summit Internet holds ACMA Carrier Licence #388 and builds, owns and operates its own network, with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres and DDoS protection as standard.

  • 02

    Business-only, for 26 years

Summit has served businesses since August 2000 and does not sell residential services. Every product is designed for business use.

  • 03

One carrier for phones, internet and mobiles

Hosted phones, business nbn, 4G backup and business mobiles come from one carrier on one bill, so there is one place to call when you need help.

  • 04

    Room to grow

Add users to the phone system, add SIP channels, or step up to Ethernet over fibre as your business needs more bandwidth.

  • As a reseller, we primarily work with Summit’s 4G services and have been very impressed. The plans are affordable, flexible, and well suited to our customers—especially for internet failover solutions. The sales and support teams are responsive and genuinely helpful, which is why we’re proud to partner with Summit Internet. We happily recommend them.Read more

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

  • Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Whole process took less than a week, and is super cost effective. Highly recommend.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Peak Connect?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with Peak Connect in any way.
Why switch if my Peak Connect service is working?
If your current services do everything your business needs, there may be no reason to change. Businesses usually look at switching when a contract is ending, they are moving office, they want internet and phones from one carrier, or they would prefer a provider that only serves businesses.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on the terms of your agreement with your current provider. Check your contract end date and any early termination fees, then time your switch to the end of the contract where possible. We can help you plan around it.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes, existing numbers can be ported to Summit. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and ports involving multiple numbers can take up to 30 days.
Do you sell residential nbn?
No. Summit is business-only and does not sell residential services. We provide business nbn with a static IP included.
Can I keep my existing desk phones or phone system?
If you own an on-premises phone system, you can connect it to Summit with SIP trunks. If you move to our Hosted PBX, we can preconfigure and ship handsets for your team.
Can I use Microsoft Teams as my phone system?
Yes. We connect Teams to the phone network via Direct Routing. Summit does not resell Microsoft licences, so you keep the licences you buy from your Microsoft provider.
Do you offer 1300 and 1800 numbers?
Yes. We provide 1300 and 1800 inbound numbers, along with fax to email and on-hold messaging.
Do I have to move everything at once?
No. Some businesses move phones first and internet later, or the other way around. When your internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised, which is one reason many customers bring both across.
