Overview

PConnect is an Australian business telco that sells cloud phone systems, Microsoft Teams Calling, contact centre services, business internet, enterprise ethernet, SD-WAN and business mobile plans. Its customers are businesses, so if you are reading this you probably have your phones, your internet, or both with them.

There are good reasons to review any provider from time to time. Your contract may be coming to an end, you may be moving office, or you may want your internet and phone system supplied by the same carrier so there is one team responsible for both. Some businesses simply want a provider that only serves businesses and owns the network their services run on.

Summit Internet builds, owns and operates its own network, with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres and DDoS protection as standard. We supply business nbn with a static IP, Ethernet over fibre, a Hosted PBX cloud phone system, SIP trunks and Microsoft Teams Calling, and we can port your existing numbers across.

Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with PConnect.

How Summit Helps

  • A cloud phone system with every feature included

Our Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month, with auto attendant, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps all included. Handsets can be preconfigured and shipped ready to plug in.

  • Microsoft Teams Calling through Direct Routing

If your team already works in Teams, we connect calling through Direct Routing so staff make and take calls from the app they use all day. Summit does not resell Microsoft licences, so you keep your existing Microsoft arrangement.

  • SIP trunks for the phone system you already own

Keeping your on-premises or cloud PBX? Our SIP trunks start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volumes change.

  • Business nbn with a static IP

Our business nbn is available nationally with a static IP included, and up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn.

  • Ethernet over fibre for larger sites

For offices that need dedicated capacity, Ethernet over fibre runs on our own network with DDoS protection as standard.

  • Voice prioritised on your connection

When your internet and phones are both with Summit, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS, so calls stay clear when the connection is busy.

  • 4G Backup that switches over automatically

4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back once your main service returns.

  • Mobiles and inbound numbers on the same bill

Add business mobile SIM plans, 1300 and 1800 numbers, fax to email and on-hold messaging, all on one bill with your internet and phones.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

Share your current services, such as your phone system, number of users, numbers, internet connection and mobiles, plus your contract end date if you know it.

  2. 2 Get a clear quote

We recommend the internet, phone and mobile services that fit how your business works and send a quote to review.

  3. 3 Set up your new services

We install your internet and configure your phone system or SIP trunks before anything changes, with handsets preconfigured if you need them.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

We lodge the port for your existing numbers. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Cancel the old service

Once your numbers are live with Summit and everything is working, you can cancel your remaining services with your old provider.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of PConnect?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier, holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388, and is not affiliated with PConnect in any way.
Why switch if my PConnect service is working?
If your current services do everything your business needs, there may be no reason to switch. Businesses usually review their provider when a contract is ending, when they are moving office, or when they want internet, phones and mobile from one carrier that owns its network.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with your current provider. Check your contract terms for any early termination fees. Many businesses time the switch to their contract end date, and we are happy to plan the move around it.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes, existing numbers can be ported to Summit. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
I use Microsoft Teams for calling. Can Summit support that?
Yes. We provide Microsoft Teams Calling through Direct Routing. Summit does not resell Microsoft licences, so you keep your existing Microsoft licensing in place.
Do I need to replace my phone system?
Not necessarily. If you want to keep your existing system, our SIP trunks start from 2 channels. If you would rather move to the cloud, our Hosted PBX includes every feature from $10 per user per month.
Can I move my internet and mobiles as well?
Yes. Summit supplies business nbn with a static IP, Ethernet over fibre, 4G Backup and business mobile SIM plans, so your internet, phones and mobiles can sit on one bill.
Does Summit offer fixed wireless?
Yes, in Melbourne and regional Victoria only, across 500+ suburbs, with symmetric speeds from 10 Mbps up to 10 Gbps. You can check coverage at your address. Outside those areas, we supply business nbn and Ethernet over fibre.
