Overview

Ozetel Pty Ltd is an Australian provider of business phone services for small and medium businesses, based in Albany, Western Australia. Its range includes a hosted phone system with a softphone app, SIP trunking for on-site phone systems, IVR menus, 1300, 1800 and local numbers, business mobile SIM plans, nbn internet, live answering and bulk SMS.

There are plenty of ordinary reasons a business reviews its phone provider. A contract may be coming to an end, the office may be moving, the team may have grown past the current setup, or you may simply want your internet, phones and mobiles from one carrier on one bill, with someone who deals only with businesses.

Summit offers a hosted PBX cloud phone system with every feature included, SIP trunks for the phone system you already own, 1300 and 1800 numbers and business nbn with a static IP included. We port your existing numbers across, so nothing changes for your callers.

Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier and is not affiliated with Ozetel.

How Summit Helps

  • A cloud phone system with everything included

Summit's Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month, with auto attendant and IVR, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email and call recording all included. There are no feature tiers to work through.

  • Work from desk, mobile or laptop

Every user gets mobile and desktop apps, so staff can take business calls on their own number wherever they are. Handsets can be preconfigured and shipped, ready to plug in.

  • SIP trunks for the phone system you already own

If you run your own on-site phone system, Summit's SIP trunks connect it to the phone network. Start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volumes change.

  • Keep your 1300, 1800 and local numbers

We port your existing numbers to Summit, including 1300 and 1800 inbound numbers. Your callers dial the same numbers they always have.

  • Internet and phones from one carrier

Pair your phones with business nbn with a static IP included, up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. When the internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised over other traffic on the connection.

  • Stay online if the line drops

Add 4G Backup and your connection fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, then fails back when the main service returns.

  • Mobiles on the same bill

Summit's business mobile SIM plans sit on the same account as your internet and phones, so there is one bill to check each month.

  • Microsoft Teams calling

If your team lives in Teams, Summit connects it to the phone network through Direct Routing, so staff can make and take calls on your business numbers from inside Teams.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

Send us a recent bill or a list of your numbers, users and phone system, and tell us what you want to change.

  2. 2 Get a clear quote

We recommend hosted PBX, SIP trunks or Teams calling to suit how your business works, plus internet and backup if you want them.

  3. 3 Set up and port

We build your new phone system and lodge the port for your numbers. Keep your Ozetel service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says a single local number generally ports in 8 to 15 days, and ports of multiple numbers can take up to 30 days.

  4. 4 Cut over

On the day the port completes, calls start arriving on Summit. Preconfigured handsets and apps are ready to go.

  5. 5 Close the old account

Once your numbers are live with Summit, you can cancel the remaining Ozetel services in line with your agreement.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Ozetel?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with Ozetel in any way.
Why switch if my Ozetel service is working?
If your current service does everything you need, there may be no reason to change. Businesses usually look at switching when a contract is ending, when they move office, when they want internet and phones from a single carrier, or when they want a provider that deals only with businesses.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes. We port your existing local, 1300 and 1800 numbers to Summit. Keep your Ozetel service active until the port is complete, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with Ozetel. Check your contract terms before you switch. Many businesses time the move to line up with the end of their contract.
Can I keep using my own on-site phone system?
Yes. Summit's SIP trunks connect an existing phone system to the phone network, starting from 2 channels.
What does Summit's hosted phone system include?
Summit's Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month and includes auto attendant and IVR, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording, and mobile and desktop apps.
Do I need Summit internet to use Summit phones?
No, Summit's phone services work over other internet connections. When your internet is also with Summit, voice traffic is prioritised, and you get internet, phones and mobiles on one bill.
Can you supply handsets?
Yes. Handsets can be preconfigured and shipped to you, so they are ready to plug in on cutover day.
