Overview

Our Connect Pty Ltd is an Australian telecommunications provider that markets itself to businesses, with a Sunshine Coast focus. Its website lists business nbn plans, custom VoIP solutions and advanced PABX systems, alongside integration, network monitoring and AI voice agent services.

Plenty of businesses are happy where they are. Others review their provider when a contract is ending, when they are moving office or adding a site, or when they want internet and phones from one carrier that only serves businesses.

Summit Internet supplies business nbn with a static IP included, a hosted phone system from $10 per user per month, and SIP trunks if you would rather keep your current PABX. When your internet is also with Summit, voice traffic is prioritised, and internet, phones and mobile arrive on one bill.

Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Our Connect.

How Summit Helps

  • Business nbn with a static IP included

Summit's business nbn plans come with a static IP as standard, and reach up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. It suits offices running VPNs, remote access or on-premises phone systems.

  • A cloud phone system with every feature included

Summit's Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month with nothing held back: auto attendant, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps. Handsets can be preconfigured and shipped to you.

  • SIP trunks for the PABX you already own

If your PABX still suits you, connect it to Summit SIP trunks. Start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volume changes.

  • Voice prioritised on your own connection

When your internet and phones are both with Summit, voice traffic is prioritised across the connection. Calls are not left competing with large downloads or cloud backups.

  • Keep your numbers

Summit can port your existing business numbers, including 1300 and 1800 numbers. Your callers keep dialling the numbers they already know.

  • A network Summit owns and operates

Summit builds, owns and operates its own network, with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres. DDoS protection is included as standard.

  • Automatic 4G backup

4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back once your main service returns.

  • Microsoft Teams Calling

If your team lives in Microsoft Teams, Summit can deliver Teams Calling via Direct Routing so staff make and take calls from Teams. You keep your Microsoft licences with your current supplier.

How It Works

  1. 1 Talk to us

Tell us which services you have now, such as business nbn, a PABX or a VoIP system, how many users and numbers you have, and when your current agreement ends.

  2. 2 Get a quote

We recommend business nbn, Hosted PBX or SIP trunks to fit how your business works, and give you a clear written quote.

  3. 3 Install the new service

Summit connects your internet and sets up your phone system or SIP trunks alongside your existing services, before anything is cancelled.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Cancel the old service

Once your numbers are live on Summit and everything is tested, you cancel your previous services.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

  • Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Whole process took less than a week, and is super cost effective. Highly recommend.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Our Connect?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with Our Connect.
Why switch if my Our Connect service is working?
If your current service does everything you need, there may be no reason to switch. Businesses usually talk to us when a contract is ending, when they are moving office, or when they want internet and phones from one business-only carrier.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with Our Connect. Check your contract terms before you switch, and tell us when your term ends so we can plan the move around it.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
In most cases, yes. Summit can port your existing numbers, including 1300 and 1800 numbers. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported.
How long does number porting take?
The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
Can I keep my existing PABX?
Often, yes. Summit SIP trunks connect to many existing phone systems, starting from 2 channels. If your PABX is ageing, our Hosted PBX is an alternative with no on-site system to maintain.
Do I need to move my internet as well as my phones?
No, but there are advantages. When your internet is also with Summit, voice traffic is prioritised and everything is on one bill.
Is Summit's business nbn available where my office is?
Summit's business nbn is available to Australian businesses nationally, with a static IP included. Tell us your address and we will confirm what is available.
