Overview

Northern Beaches Broadband is a locally owned fixed wireless internet provider based in Newport, on Sydney's Northern Beaches. It has been connecting local businesses and residents since 2016, and its business plans are fixed wireless internet with a public IP address, with an option for a redundant backup connection.

Businesses review their internet provider for plenty of ordinary reasons: a contract coming to an end, a move to new premises, a second site somewhere else in Australia, or wanting internet and phones from one business-only carrier on one bill.

Summit Internet offers business nbn nationally with a static IP included, up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn, plus Ethernet over fibre and 4G Backup that fails over automatically. You can add a cloud phone system and business mobiles to the same account.

Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Northern Beaches Broadband.

How Summit Helps

  • Business nbn with a static IP included

Every business nbn service from Summit comes with a static IP included, so remote access, VPNs and hosted systems keep working the way they do now. On full-fibre nbn, speeds go up to 2000/500 Mbps.

  • Ethernet over fibre for bigger sites

Summit also offers Ethernet over fibre for business sites. We can talk through which option suits your site.

  • 4G Backup that switches over for you

4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back when your main link returns. Staff keep working without anyone touching a router.

  • A network Summit builds and runs

Summit builds, owns and operates its own network, with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres. DDoS protection comes as standard.

  • Phones on the same connection

Our Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month with every feature included, from auto attendant to call recording. When your internet is also with Summit, voice traffic is prioritised.

  • Business mobiles on one bill

Add business mobile SIM plans and your internet, phones and mobiles arrive on one bill from one carrier.

  • 4G Static IP when you need it

For sites where a fixed line is not practical yet, a 4G Static IP service gives you a mobile connection that still has a fixed address.

  • Built only for businesses

Summit is business-only and does not sell residential services.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us about your site

Share your address, how many staff you have and what runs over your connection today, such as VPNs, cloud apps or hosted systems.

  2. 2 Get a recommendation and quote

We check what is available at your address and recommend the right mix of business nbn, Ethernet over fibre and 4G Backup.

  3. 3 Time it to your contract

Check your current agreement and schedule the Summit installation for when your existing contract ends, so you are not paying twice.

  4. 4 Go live and cut over

Once your Summit service is active and tested, move your traffic across, then cancel your old service.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

  • Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Whole process took less than a week, and is super cost effective. Highly recommend.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Northern Beaches Broadband?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with Northern Beaches Broadband in any way.
Why switch if my Northern Beaches Broadband service is working?
If your current service does everything your business needs, there may be no reason to change. Businesses usually look at Summit when a contract is ending, they are moving or adding a site, or they want internet, phones and mobiles from one business-only carrier.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on the terms of your agreement with Northern Beaches Broadband. Check your contract before switching and time the move to its end date where you can. We can schedule your Summit installation to suit.
Does Summit offer fixed wireless on the Northern Beaches?
No. Summit's fixed wireless network covers Melbourne and regional Victoria only. Elsewhere in Australia, including Sydney, we offer business nbn with a static IP included, 4G Backup and 4G Static IP.
Will I get a static IP address?
Yes. A static IP is included with Summit's business nbn services, and 4G Static IP is available where you need a mobile connection with a fixed address.
What happens if my main connection drops?
With 4G Backup, your connection fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network and fails back once the main link is restored.
Can I add phones to my Summit internet?
Yes. You can add our Hosted PBX cloud phone system, SIP trunks for an existing phone system, or Microsoft Teams Calling. Existing numbers can be ported across.
Do you sell residential internet?
No. Summit Internet is business-only and does not sell residential services.
