Overview

NewVo is a New South Wales business telecommunications provider serving small and medium businesses. Its range covers hosted and on-premises PBX phone systems, SIP trunking, inbound numbers, on-hold messaging and unified communications, along with business fibre, Midband Ethernet and nbn.

Businesses review their provider for ordinary reasons: a contract is coming to an end, the office is moving, the team is growing, or they want internet and phones from one carrier that deals only with businesses.

Summit offers a cloud phone system, SIP trunks for existing phone systems, 1300 and 1800 numbers, business nbn with a static IP and Ethernet over fibre, all on a network we build, own and operate. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with NewVo.

How Summit Helps

  • A Business-Only Carrier

Summit does not sell residential services. Every product, plan and support process is built around what businesses need, and we have been doing it for 26 years.

  • A Cloud Phone System With Every Feature Included

Our Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month, with auto attendant, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps included. Handsets can be preconfigured and shipped ready to plug in.

  • SIP Trunks for the Phone System You Already Have

If you run an on-premises PBX and want to keep it, our SIP trunks start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volume changes.

  • Inbound Numbers and On-Hold Messaging

Keep your 1300 and 1800 numbers working with inbound services, and add fax to email and on-hold messaging so callers hear something useful while they wait.

  • Business nbn With a Static IP

Business nbn is available nationally with a static IP included, at up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. For sites that need more, we also offer Ethernet over fibre.

  • Voice Prioritised on Your Own Connection

When your internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS, so calls are handled ahead of downloads and backups on the same link.

  • Stay Online if the Line Drops

4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back automatically when your main service returns.

  • Our Own Network, With DDoS Protection

Summit builds, owns and operates its network, with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres and DDoS protection as standard.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

Share your current services, phone numbers, handsets and contract end dates, and we will map out what moves where.

  2. 2 Get a clear quote

We recommend the internet, phone system or SIP trunks that fit, and put it all on one proposal.

  3. 3 Set up in parallel

We install your new connection and configure your phone system or SIP trunks while your existing NewVo services keep running.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

Keep your current services active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Cut over and cancel

Once your numbers are live on Summit and everything is tested, you can arrange to close your old services.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

  • Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of NewVo?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with NewVo in any way.
Why switch if my NewVo service is working?
If your current services do everything you need, there may be no reason to switch. Businesses usually talk to us when a contract is ending, they are moving office, they want internet and phones from one carrier, or they want a provider that deals only with businesses.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with NewVo. Check your contract terms before you switch, and where possible time the move to your contract end date. We can plan the setup so your new services are ready when the old contract finishes.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes, existing numbers can be ported to Summit, including 1300 and 1800 numbers. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
Can I keep my existing phone system?
If you have an on-premises PBX that suits you, our SIP trunks can connect it. If you would rather move to the cloud, our Hosted PBX replaces it.
Do you supply handsets?
Yes. For Hosted PBX we can preconfigure handsets and ship them to your office ready to plug in.
Will my calls be affected while we switch?
We set up your new services alongside your existing ones, then move your numbers across. Your current services stay in place until the port completes.
Is Summit available outside Victoria?
Yes. Business nbn, Hosted PBX, SIP trunks and inbound numbers are available to Australian businesses nationally. Fixed wireless is available in Melbourne and regional Victoria only.
