Overview

Netbright is a communications provider based in Central Queensland, with a presence in Rockhampton, Gladstone and Yeppoon. It sells home internet as well as business services: business nbn, Enterprise Ethernet, a Business PBX phone system, Business SIP, Teams Calling, professional WiFi and 4G/5G wireless broadband.

Most businesses review their provider at a natural moment: a contract is ending, the business is moving office or opening a new site, or the owner wants internet and phones from one carrier that deals only with businesses. If any of those apply, it is worth comparing your options.

Summit offers business nbn with a static IP, Ethernet over fibre, a cloud phone system, SIP trunks and Microsoft Teams Calling, all on a network we build, own and operate. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Netbright.

How Summit Helps

  • A Business-Only Carrier

Summit does not sell residential services. We work only with businesses, and we have been doing it for 26 years.

  • Business nbn With a Static IP

Our business nbn plans include a static IP, with speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. It is available to Australian businesses nationally.

  • Dedicated Fibre for Larger Sites

If your business has outgrown nbn, Ethernet over fibre gives you a dedicated fibre connection on Summit's own network, with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres and DDoS protection as standard.

  • A Cloud Phone System With Every Feature Included

Summit Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month and includes auto attendant, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps. We can preconfigure handsets and ship them to your office.

  • SIP Trunks for Your Existing Phone System

If you already own a phone system, our SIP trunks connect it to the phone network. Start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volume changes.

  • Calling Inside Microsoft Teams

Summit connects Teams to the phone network through Direct Routing, so staff make and take calls in Microsoft Teams. You keep your existing Microsoft licences, as Summit does not resell them.

  • 1300 and 1800 Numbers

We provide 1300 and 1800 inbound numbers, fax to email and on-hold messaging, so customers can keep reaching you the way they always have.

  • Backup That Switches Over Automatically

4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, which covers 98.8% of the population, and fails back once your main connection returns.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

Share your current internet, phone numbers, phone system and mobile services, and when your agreement ends.

  2. 2 Get a clear proposal

We recommend the internet, voice and backup services that fit your sites and send a written quote.

  3. 3 Install your new connection

We connect your new internet service and set up your phone system or SIP trunks, with handsets preconfigured if you need them.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

We lodge the port of your existing numbers. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Cancel your old services

Once your numbers are live with Summit, you can arrange to cancel your old services.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

  • Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Whole process took less than a week, and is super cost effective. Highly recommend.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Netbright?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with Netbright.
Why switch if my Netbright service is working?
If your current services do everything your business needs, there may be no reason to change. Businesses usually compare providers when a contract ends, when they move or add a site, or when they want internet, phones and mobile from one business-only carrier.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on the terms of your agreement with Netbright. Check your contract end date and any early termination charges, and we can time your switch to line up with the end of your contract.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes, existing numbers can generally be ported to Summit, including 1300 and 1800 numbers. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
Can I keep my existing phone system?
If your phone system supports SIP, you can connect it to Summit SIP trunks, starting from 2 channels. If you would rather move to the cloud, Summit Hosted PBX replaces on-site equipment.
Can Summit connect my Microsoft Teams to the phone network?
Yes. Summit provides Teams Calling via Direct Routing. You keep your existing Microsoft licences, as Summit does not resell them.
Is Summit's business nbn available in Central Queensland?
Summit's business nbn is available to Australian businesses nationally and includes a static IP. Our fixed wireless network covers Melbourne and regional Victoria only.
What happens to my internet if the main connection drops?
With 4G Backup, your connection fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network and fails back when your main service returns.
