Summit Internet
For nbn fixed wireless users

nbn Fixed Wireless Built for Downloads. Your Business Needs Uploads.

nbn fixed wireless shares its towers with every home nearby and pairs fast downloads with much slower uploads. Summit's own fixed wireless network is built for business only, with symmetric speed options across 500+ Melbourne suburbs, installed in 10 business days or your first month free.

The Connectivity Challenge

nbn's fixed wireless upgrade has lifted download speeds, and for a household streaming video that is a real improvement. But nbn's own published wholesale tiers tell the business story: Home Fast is 200 to 250 Mbps down but only 8 to 20 Mbps up, and Superfast is 400 Mbps down with 10 to 40 Mbps up.

Businesses push data the other way. Cloud backups, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace sync, video meetings, VoIP calls and file transfers to clients all depend on upload. When the upload pipe is a tenth of the download, the office feels slow no matter what the headline speed says.

nbn also states that fixed wireless speeds depend on the number of people using the network, especially at busy times, and those towers serve homes as well as businesses. Summit offers the alternative: fixed wireless on a network that carries business traffic only.

How Summit Helps

  • Symmetric Speeds, From 10 Mbps to 10 Gbps

Summit offers symmetric options, so your uploads can match your downloads. Backups finish, video stays sharp, and calls stay clear.

  • A Business-Only Network

There are no residential customers on Summit's network. Capacity is planned around the working day, not the evening streaming peak.

  • Our Own Licensed Network

Summit holds ACMA Carrier Licence #388. Your connection runs on our towers and licensed microwave backhaul, not nbn's.

  • Installed in 10 Business Days, Guaranteed

Live within 10 business days of order, or your first month is free.

  • Support From the Network Owner

A fault goes straight to the people who built and run the network, with no wholesaler in the middle.

  • Phones and 4G Backup Included

Hosted PBX, SIP trunks and automatic 4G failover from the same carrier, on one invoice.

How It Works

  1. 1 Check Your Address

Use our coverage checker or call 1300 049 749. Our network covers 500+ suburbs across Melbourne and regional Victoria.

  2. 2 Tell Us What You Upload

Backups, video, phones, design files: tell us how you work and we will size the right symmetric speed.

  3. 3 Survey and Install

Our technicians confirm line of sight and install our own antenna on your roof. There is nothing to buy.

  4. 4 Go Live, Then Cancel

We test your Summit connection while your nbn service keeps running, then you cancel nbn.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit part of nbn?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier (ACMA Carrier Licence #388) with its own fixed wireless network. Summit also sells business nbn services, so we can give you an honest comparison for your address.
How fast is nbn fixed wireless upload?
nbn's published wholesale tiers list Home Fast at 8 to 20 Mbps upload and Superfast at 10 to 40 Mbps upload. Your actual speed depends on your retailer, plan, location and how busy the network is.
How is Summit fixed wireless different from nbn fixed wireless?
Both use a rooftop antenna and a nearby tower. The difference is the network: Summit's carries business customers only and offers symmetric speed options, while nbn's is shared with homes and is designed around download speed.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes. We port your existing numbers to a Summit Hosted PBX or SIP trunk.
Will there be downtime when I switch?
There should not be. We install and test your Summit connection while your nbn service is still active.
How quickly can you connect my business?
In as little as 10 business days from order. If we do not meet that timeframe, your first month is free.
What if Summit's network cannot reach me?
We will recommend business fibre, business nbn or 4G instead. Use our coverage checker or call 1300 049 749.
Do you connect homes?
No. Summit's network is business-only.
