Overview

National Phone Systems, which also trades as Retail Phone Systems, installs and supports 3CX phone systems for businesses. It is a 3CX partner, sells 3CX licences and hosting, supplies handsets with Yealink as its main brand, records professional voice overs for on-hold messages, and offers business nbn plans. Its website focuses on phone systems for pizza bars, hospitality venues, retail stores, pharmacies and dental practices.

Businesses review their phone provider for plenty of reasons: a licence renewal or contract is coming up, the business is moving premises or opening a new site, or they would rather have their phones and the internet connection those phones depend on come from one carrier that deals only with businesses.

Summit offers a cloud phone system with every feature included, SIP trunks for businesses that want to keep an existing phone system, and Microsoft Teams Calling, plus business nbn with a static IP, 4G backup and business mobiles, all on a network we build, own and operate. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with National Phone Systems or Retail Phone Systems.

How Summit Helps

  • A Cloud Phone System With Nothing to Licence Separately

Summit's Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month with every feature included: auto attendant, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps. There is no separate software licence to track or renew.

  • Keep Your Existing Phone System With SIP Trunks

If you have invested in a phone system you want to keep, Summit SIP trunks connect it to the phone network. Start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volume changes.

  • Handsets Ready on Arrival

We can preconfigure handsets and ship them to you, so a shop, venue or practice can plug in and start taking calls without a technician juggling settings on site.

  • Business nbn From the Same Carrier

Business nbn comes with a static IP included and speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. When your internet is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised so calls stay clear when the connection is busy.

  • Keep Trading if the Line Drops

4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back once your main connection returns. For a counter, a kitchen or a front desk, that keeps orders and bookings coming in.

  • On-Hold Messaging and Inbound Numbers

Summit provides on-hold messaging, 1300 and 1800 numbers and fax to email, so the way customers reach you stays consistent when you move.

  • Microsoft Teams Calling

If your team already lives in Microsoft Teams, Teams Calling via Direct Routing lets staff make and take business calls inside Teams. Summit does not resell Microsoft licences, so you keep your existing Microsoft agreement.

  • One Bill for Internet, Phones and Mobile

Internet, phones and business mobile SIM plans sit on a single Summit bill, with one carrier responsible for the lot.

How It Works

  1. 1 Talk to us

Tell us how your business takes calls today: how many handsets and sites, your numbers, call flows, hold messages and internet connection.

  2. 2 Get a quote

We recommend Hosted PBX, SIP trunks or Teams Calling to suit, with business nbn and 4G backup if you want them, and quote it. Request a quote.

  3. 3 Set up and ship

We build your call flows and can preconfigure handsets and ship them, so everything is ready before your numbers move.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

We lodge the port of your existing numbers. Keep your current phone service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Go live

Calls start arriving on Summit, and you then arrange to close the old services with your previous provider.

Why National Phone Systems Customers Choose Summit

  • 01

A Licensed Carrier, Not a Reseller

Summit Internet holds ACMA Carrier Licence #388 and has been in business for 26 years. We build, own and operate our own network, with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres and DDoS protection as standard.

  • 02

    Business-Only

Summit does not sell residential services. Every customer is a business, so our products and processes are built around how businesses work.

  • 03

    Phones and Internet Together

When the phone system and the connection it runs on come from the same carrier, voice traffic is prioritised and there is one place to call if something needs attention.

  • 04

    Room to Grow

Add users, sites, channels or mobiles as you need them, whether you run one store or several across Australia.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of National Phone Systems?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with National Phone Systems or Retail Phone Systems.
Why switch if my National Phone Systems service is working?
If your current setup does everything you need, there may be no reason to switch. Businesses usually look at Summit when a licence or contract is ending, when they move or add a site, or when they want their phones and internet from one business-only carrier.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on the terms of your agreement with National Phone Systems and any other providers you use. Check your agreement before you switch, and where possible time the move to your contract end or renewal date.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
In most cases, yes. We port your existing numbers across to Summit. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
Can I keep my existing phone system?
Often, yes. Summit SIP trunks connect existing phone systems to the phone network, starting from 2 channels. Talk to us about your setup and we will confirm what suits it.
What does Summit's Hosted PBX include?
Every feature is included from $10 per user per month: auto attendant and IVR, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording, and mobile and desktop apps.
Can Summit supply our internet as well?
Yes. Summit provides business nbn nationally with a static IP included, Ethernet over fibre, 4G Static IP and 4G Backup, so your phones and internet come from one carrier on one bill.
Can I keep my on-hold message?
Summit provides on-hold messaging, so callers on hold still hear a message from your business. Tell us what you use today and we will set it up as part of the move.
