Overview

MyBizPhone (trading as My Biz Phone) is a Gold Coast business telecommunications provider based in Nerang, Queensland. It describes itself as a Voice over IP specialist offering consulting, installation, configuration, training and support for business phone systems, including 3CX solutions, Epygi IP PBX systems, IP phones and IP gateways that move existing phone systems to IP telephony. It also provides voice and SIP services and ports existing phone numbers for its customers.

Businesses review their phone provider for plenty of reasons: a contract is ending, the team is moving office, the phone system is due for an upgrade, or they want their phones and the internet connection those phones depend on to come from one carrier that deals only with businesses.

If you own a 3CX or IP PBX system, Summit can connect it with SIP trunks. If you would rather not manage a phone system at all, our cloud phone system includes every feature, and Microsoft Teams Calling is available too. Add business nbn with a static IP, 4G backup and business mobiles, all on a network we build, own and operate. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with MyBizPhone.

How Summit Helps

  • SIP Trunks for the Phone System You Already Own

Systems like 3CX and Epygi IP PBXs connect to the phone network over SIP. Summit SIP trunks start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volumes change, so you can keep the hardware and configuration you have invested in.

  • A Cloud Phone System if You Would Rather Not Run One

Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month and includes auto attendant and IVR, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps. There is no on-site or self-managed PBX to maintain.

  • Desk Phones Ready to Plug In

On Hosted PBX, we can preconfigure the handsets and ship them to you, so they arrive set up for your office.

  • Microsoft Teams Calling

If your team works in Teams, Teams Calling connects it to the phone network through Direct Routing, so staff make and take calls on their business numbers from Teams. You keep buying your Microsoft licences as you do now.

  • Voice Prioritised on Your Own Carrier's Network

When your internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS. Business nbn comes with a static IP included, with speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn, and our network has Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres with DDoS protection as standard.

  • 4G Backup for When the Line Drops

An IP phone system needs a working connection. 4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back automatically when your main service returns.

  • Inbound Numbers, Mobiles and One Bill

Add 1300 and 1800 numbers, fax to email, on-hold messaging and business mobile SIM plans. Internet, phones and mobile arrive on one bill.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us about your current setup

List your numbers, your phone system (for example 3CX or an Epygi IP PBX), how many calls you handle at once, and when your MyBizPhone agreement ends.

  2. 2 Get a quote

We recommend SIP trunks for the system you own, or Hosted PBX or Teams Calling if you would rather move to the cloud, plus internet and backup if you want them, and send you a written quote.

  3. 3 Set up your service

We provide the SIP trunk details for your phone system, or build your auto attendant, ring groups and queues on Hosted PBX and preconfigure handsets if you need them.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

We port your existing numbers across. Keep your MyBizPhone service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Cancel once you are live

When your numbers have moved and calls are working, you cancel the old service.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of MyBizPhone?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with MyBizPhone, and this page is not endorsed by MyBizPhone.
Why switch if my MyBizPhone service is working?
If MyBizPhone does everything you need, there may be no reason to switch. Businesses usually talk to us when a contract is ending, when they are moving office or upgrading their phone system, or when they want their phones, internet and mobiles from one business-only carrier.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes. We port your existing numbers to Summit. Keep your MyBizPhone service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with MyBizPhone. Check your terms, and if there is a minimum term, we can plan the switch so your Summit service is ready when it ends.
Can I keep my 3CX or Epygi phone system?
Yes, in most cases. Phone systems that support SIP trunking can connect to Summit SIP trunks. Tell us which system and version you run, and how many calls you handle at once, and we will confirm the setup in your quote.
Do I have to keep running my own phone system?
No. If you would rather not maintain a PBX, Hosted PBX is our cloud phone system, from $10 per user per month with auto attendant and IVR, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps included.
Do I need to change my internet provider too?
No. Our phone services work over your existing connection. If you would like your internet with us as well, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS when the connection is also Summit's, and you get one bill for internet, phones and mobile.
Can I keep my 1300 or 1800 number?
Yes. We provide 1300 and 1800 inbound numbers, and existing inbound numbers can be ported across in the same way as your other numbers.
What happens if my internet goes down?
Add 4G Backup. It fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back automatically when your main connection returns.
