Overview

mVoice Pty Ltd is an Australian provider of business VoIP services. Its website lists business VoIP plans, a hosted business PBX on pay-per-extension plans, a managed PBX, fax to email and phone hardware, with add-ons including 1300 and 1800 numbers, teleconferencing, interactive voice response (IVR), private IP and number porting.

Businesses review their phone provider for plenty of reasons: a contract is ending, the team is moving office, or they want their phones and the internet connection those phones depend on to come from one carrier that deals only with businesses.

Summit offers a cloud phone system, SIP trunks for existing phone systems, Microsoft Teams Calling and 1300 and 1800 numbers, plus business nbn with a static IP, 4G backup and business mobiles, all on a network we build, own and operate. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with mVoice.

How Summit Helps

  • A Business-Only Carrier

Summit does not sell residential services. Every product, plan and support process is built around what businesses need, and we have been doing it for 26 years.

  • A Cloud Phone System With Every Feature Included

If you use a hosted PBX today, our Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month with every feature included: auto attendant and IVR, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording, and mobile and desktop apps.

  • SIP Trunks for the Phone System You Already Own

If you have an on-site or managed PBX you want to keep, our SIP trunks connect it to the phone network. Start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volumes change.

  • Keep Your 1300 and 1800 Numbers

Inbound numbers are often printed on everything a business owns. We can port your existing 1300 and 1800 numbers and the local numbers behind them, and set up on-hold messaging for callers.

  • Fax to Email Still Covered

If you still receive faxes, Summit provides fax to email, so documents arrive in your inbox without a fax machine.

  • Your Phones and Internet on One Network

When your internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised (QoS) so calls are not competing with downloads and video meetings. Business nbn comes with a static IP included, with speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn.

  • A Backup Connection for When It Matters

4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network (98.8% population coverage) and fails back automatically when your main connection returns, so your phones stay reachable.

  • One Bill for Internet, Phones and Mobiles

Internet, phones and business mobile SIM plans all come from Summit on one bill, with one carrier responsible for the lot.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

Share how many users, numbers and sites you have, and whether you use a hosted PBX, your own phone system or fax to email. We will recommend the right setup.

  2. 2 Get a clear quote

We put together a quote for your phones and, if you want them, your internet and mobiles. Request a quote to start.

  3. 3 We set up your new service

We build your phone system, call flows and IVR, and can preconfigure handsets and ship them to you ready to plug in.

  4. 4 We port your numbers

We lodge the port for your existing numbers. Keep your mVoice service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Cancel the old service

Once your numbers are working on Summit, you can arrange to close your remaining mVoice services in line with your agreement.

Why mVoice Customers Choose Summit

  • 01

    A Licensed Carrier

Summit Internet holds ACMA Carrier Licence #388 and has been in business since August 2000. We build, own and operate our own network, with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres and DDoS protection as standard.

  • 02

Phones and the Connection Under Them

Many businesses buy their phones from one company and their internet from another. Putting both with Summit means one provider for the whole path your calls take, with voice traffic prioritised on our network.

  • 03

    Choice of Phone Setup

Whether you want a fully hosted phone system, SIP trunks for a PBX you already own, or calling inside Microsoft Teams via Direct Routing, Summit supports it. Summit does not resell Microsoft licences.

  • 04

    Built for Australian Businesses

We provide business nbn nationally, ethernet over fibre and 4G static IP services, and fixed wireless across Melbourne and regional Victoria.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

  • Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Whole process took less than a week, and is super cost effective. Highly recommend.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of mVoice?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with mVoice in any way.
Why switch if my mVoice service is working?
If your current setup does everything you need, there may be no reason to change. Businesses usually look at Summit when a contract is ending, when they are moving office, or when they want their phones and internet from one business-only carrier.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on the terms of your mVoice agreement. Check your contract end date and any early termination terms, and we can time your switch to line up with the end of your contract.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes, in most cases. We can port your existing local numbers and 1300 and 1800 numbers to Summit. Keep your mVoice service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported.
How long does number porting take?
The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and ports involving multiple numbers can take up to 30 days. We will keep you updated through the process.
I use a hosted PBX. What would I move to?
Our Hosted PBX is a cloud phone system from $10 per user per month, with auto attendant and IVR, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording, and mobile and desktop apps included.
I have my own phone system. Can I keep it?
Yes. Our SIP trunks connect your existing phone system to the phone network, starting from 2 channels and scaling as you need.
Can I still receive faxes?
Yes. Summit provides fax to email, so incoming faxes arrive as documents in your inbox.
Do I have to move my internet to Summit as well?
No. You can move just your phones. If your internet is also with Summit, voice traffic is prioritised on our network, and everything sits on one bill.
