Overview

Melbourne ISP is a locally owned fixed wireless provider serving Melbourne's western suburbs, including Ravenhall, Derrimut, Deer Park, Burnside, Burnside Heights, Caroline Springs and Taylors Hill. Under its wirelessFibre brand it sells business fixed wireless internet, standby connections used as a backup link, and custom wireless links that join a business's sites together, alongside residential plans.

Businesses review their provider for ordinary reasons: a contract coming to an end, a move to a new office or warehouse, a second site that needs connecting, or simply wanting internet, phones and mobiles from one carrier on one bill. If any of those apply to you, it is worth seeing what else is available at your address before you renew.

Summit is a business-only carrier. We build, own and operate our own network, with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres and DDoS protection as standard. Our fixed wireless reaches 500+ suburbs across Melbourne and regional Victoria, and we can add business nbn, Ethernet over fibre, 4G Backup and a cloud phone system on the same account.

Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Melbourne ISP.

How Summit Helps

  • Stay on Fixed Wireless

You chose fixed wireless for a reason, and you do not have to give it up. Summit's business fixed wireless is a like-for-like move for businesses that want to stay on fixed wireless.

  • Symmetric Speeds, 10 Mbps to 10 Gbps

Cloud backups, video meetings and file sync all lean on upload speed. Summit's fixed wireless is symmetric, from 10 Mbps up to 10 Gbps, so you can scale up as the business grows without changing technology.

  • Installed in 10 Business Days, or the First Month Is Free

Our install commitment is simple: your service is live within 10 business days of order, or your first month is free. That makes it easier to plan a switch around a contract end date or an office move.

  • Backup That Fails Over by Itself

If you use a standby link today, Summit's 4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back automatically when your primary link returns.

  • Connecting More Than One Site

If you link offices, warehouses or yards together, Summit can connect each site with fixed wireless, Ethernet over fibre or business nbn with a static IP included, depending on what reaches each address.

  • A Business-Only Network

Summit does not sell residential services. Every customer on our network is a business, and our network is built and run for business traffic.

  • Phones on the Same Connection

Add a Hosted PBX from $10 per user per month with every feature included, or SIP trunks for an existing phone system. When your internet is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised.

  • One Carrier, One Bill

Internet, phones and mobiles from one carrier on one invoice. Fewer suppliers means fewer places to chase when something needs attention.

How It Works

  1. 1 Check your address

Enter your business address in our coverage checker or call 1300 049 749. We will tell you whether our fixed wireless reaches you, and if it does not, what will.

  2. 2 Tell us your timing

Let us know when your current agreement ends or when you are moving, and we will plan the installation around that date.

  3. 3 Site survey and install

We confirm line of sight to our network and install the equipment at your premises, within 10 business days of order or your first month is free.

  4. 4 Test and go live

We test the new connection with you while your existing service is still running, so you are not left without a connection while you change over.

  5. 5 Cancel the old service

Once you are happy everything works on Summit, you arrange cancellation of your previous service in line with your agreement.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Melbourne ISP?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier, licensed under ACMA Carrier Licence #388, and is not affiliated with Melbourne ISP. We run our own network and have been in business since August 2000.
Why switch if my Melbourne ISP service is working?
If your current service does everything your business needs, there may be no reason to switch. Businesses usually look at Summit when a contract is ending, when they are moving premises or adding a site, or when they want internet, phones and mobiles from one business-only carrier.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on the terms of your agreement with Melbourne ISP, so check your contract or ask them directly. The simplest approach is to time your switch to the end of your current term, and we can plan your installation around that date.
Is Summit's network available at my address?
Summit's fixed wireless covers 500+ suburbs across Melbourne and regional Victoria. Use our coverage checker or call 1300 049 749. If fixed wireless cannot reach your premises, we can look at business nbn, Ethernet over fibre or 4G instead.
How quickly can you connect my business?
Within 10 business days of order, or your first month is free.
Will there be downtime when I switch?
We plan to avoid it. We install and test your Summit connection while your existing service is still running, so you only cancel the old service once the new one is live.
Can Summit provide a backup connection?
Yes. Summit's 4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network when your primary link drops, and fails back automatically when it returns.
Can you connect my other sites?
Yes. Depending on what reaches each address, we can connect additional sites with fixed wireless, Ethernet over fibre or business nbn. Request a quote and tell us where your sites are.
Do you connect homes as well?
No. Summit is business-only and does not sell residential services.
