Overview

LIT Networks is an Australian owned provider based in Windsor Gardens, South Australia. It describes itself as offering data networks for business, including dark fibre and wavelength services, Layer 2 Ethernet services, business internet, IP transit and managed IP WAN, along with voice services such as SIP and Microsoft Teams calling.

Businesses review their provider for ordinary reasons: a contract is ending, they are moving or adding offices, or they want their internet and phones from one carrier that deals only with businesses.

Summit offers business nbn with a static IP included, Ethernet over fibre, fixed wireless across Melbourne and regional Victoria, and 4G Backup, all on a network we build, own and operate. When you need phones too, our cloud phone system and SIP trunks run on the same connection. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with LIT Networks.

How Summit Helps

  • A Business-Only Carrier

Summit does not sell residential services. We work only with businesses, and we have been doing it for 26 years.

  • Our Own Network

Summit builds, owns and operates its own network, with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres. DDoS protection is included as standard on our services.

  • Ethernet Over Fibre

For sites that need a fibre connection, Ethernet over fibre connects your business onto our network. Tell us what each site needs and we will design around it.

  • Business nbn With a Static IP

Business nbn is available nationally with a static IP included, and up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. It suits branch offices and smaller sites alongside a fibre head office.

  • Fixed Wireless in Melbourne and Regional Victoria

Across 500+ suburbs in Melbourne and regional Victoria, Summit fixed wireless delivers symmetric speeds from 10 Mbps up to 10 Gbps. It is installed in 10 business days or the first month is free. Check your address.

  • Automatic 4G Backup

4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back automatically when your main link returns.

  • Phones on the Same Network

Add a Hosted PBX from $10 per user per month, SIP trunks for an existing phone system, or Microsoft Teams Calling via Direct Routing. When your internet is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised.

  • One Bill

Internet, phones and business mobile on one bill from one carrier, so there is one account to manage and one team to call.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us about your sites

Share your current services, locations and contract end dates, and what each site needs from its connection.

  2. 2 We design and quote

We recommend the right mix of fibre, business nbn, fixed wireless and 4G backup, and send a clear written quote.

  3. 3 We install alongside your current service

Where possible, your new connection is installed and tested while your existing service keeps running.

  4. 4 Cut over and confirm

We move your traffic onto Summit, confirm everything works, and you then arrange to cancel the old service in line with your agreement.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more
