Overview

Legion Telecom is a licensed telecommunications carrier based in Birtinya on the Sunshine Coast. It operates its own fibre-to-the-premises network, with a footprint it describes as spanning the Sunshine Coast from Noosaville to Caloundra, and offers business fibre, Layer 2 and Layer 3 services, dark fibre, point-to-point links and WAN solutions, along with unified communications and managed cloud ICT services. It serves businesses, apartment buildings and body corporates, new developments, schools and residential communities.

Businesses review their provider for ordinary reasons: a contract is coming to an end, the business is moving office or opening a site outside the Sunshine Coast, or the team wants internet, phones and mobile from one carrier that deals only with businesses.

Summit offers business nbn with a static IP included, Ethernet over fibre, 4G Backup, a cloud phone system, SIP trunks and business mobile, all on a network we build, own and operate. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Legion Telecom.

How Summit Helps

  • A Business-Only Carrier

Summit does not sell residential services. We have supplied Australian businesses for 26 years.

  • Business nbn With a Static IP Included

Our business nbn is available nationally, so one provider can cover your Sunshine Coast premises and sites elsewhere in Australia. A static IP is included, with speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn.

  • Ethernet Over Fibre

For businesses that rely on fibre for their main connection, Ethernet over fibre is a business-grade alternative. Tell us your address and we will confirm what can be delivered there.

  • Our Own Network, With DDoS Protection

Summit builds, owns and operates its own network, with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres. DDoS protection is standard.

  • Automatic 4G Backup

4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, which covers 98.8% of the population, and fails back automatically when your main link returns.

  • Phones on the Same Connection

Our Hosted PBX cloud phone system starts from $10 per user per month with every feature included, or keep your existing phone system with SIP trunks. When the internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised.

  • One Bill for Internet, Phones and Mobile

Internet, phones and business mobile SIM plans sit on one bill with one carrier, so there is one account to manage and one team to call.

  • Fixed Wireless in Melbourne and Regional Victoria

If your business also operates in Melbourne or regional Victoria, our fixed wireless network covers 500+ suburbs there, with symmetric speeds from 10 Mbps up to 10 Gbps. It is not available on the Sunshine Coast or elsewhere in Queensland.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have now

Share your current services, sites and contract end dates. We look at what each location needs, including any sites outside the Sunshine Coast.

  2. 2 Get a written quote

We confirm what can be delivered at each address and quote internet, backup and phones together, so you can compare before you commit.

  3. 3 Time the changeover

We schedule the new connection around your contract end date. We recommend keeping your current service running until the new one is live and tested.

  4. 4 Go live and test

We install and test the new connection, configure 4G Backup if you choose it, and check your phones are working before you cancel anything.

  5. 5 Cancel the old service

Once everything is confirmed working on Summit, you arrange cancellation with your previous provider in line with your agreement.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

  • Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Whole process took less than a week, and is super cost effective. Highly recommend.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Legion Telecom?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier, holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388, and is not affiliated with Legion Telecom in any way.
Why switch if my Legion Telecom service is working?
If your current services do everything your business needs, there may be no reason to change. Businesses usually look at Summit when a contract is ending, when they are moving or adding a site, or when they want internet, phones and mobile from one business-only carrier.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on the terms of your agreement with Legion Telecom. Check your contract end date and any early termination terms, and we can time the switch so the new service starts as your current term ends.
Can Summit connect my Sunshine Coast premises?
Business nbn is sold nationally, but availability depends on the address. Send us your address and we will confirm exactly which services can be delivered there before you commit.
Is Summit's fixed wireless available on the Sunshine Coast?
No. Summit's fixed wireless network covers Melbourne and regional Victoria only. On the Sunshine Coast we would quote business nbn with a static IP, Ethernet over fibre where available, and 4G Backup. You can check Melbourne and Victorian addresses on our coverage page.
Does Summit's business nbn include a static IP?
Yes. A static IP is included with Summit business nbn, with speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn.
What happens if my internet connection goes down?
With 4G Backup, your connection fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network and fails back automatically when the main link returns.
Can Summit also supply our phones?
Yes. We offer a Hosted PBX cloud phone system from $10 per user per month, SIP trunks for existing phone systems and Microsoft Teams Calling via Direct Routing. Existing numbers can be ported to Summit; keep the old service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported.
Will my internet go offline during the switch?
We recommend keeping your current service active until the new Summit connection is installed and tested, then cancelling the old service once everything is confirmed working.
