Overview

Ignite Telecom is an Australian business communications provider based in North Sydney. It sells business data services, including nbn for business, business fibre internet, nbn Enterprise Ethernet and 4G/5G internet backup, alongside business voice such as SIP trunking and Microsoft Teams Calling with Direct Routing. Its range also covers phone systems, business mobile, inbound and SMS services, contact centre and unified communications.

Businesses review their provider for ordinary reasons: a contract is coming to an end, the office is moving, or they want internet and phones from a carrier that runs its own network. Some simply prefer a provider that only deals with businesses.

Summit Internet supplies business nbn with a static IP included, Ethernet over fibre, 4G Backup, a Hosted PBX, SIP trunks and Microsoft Teams Calling, all delivered over a network we build, own and operate, and all on one bill.

Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Ignite Telecom.

How Summit Helps

  • SIP trunks for your existing phone system

If you already run an on-premises PBX, Summit SIP trunks connect it to the phone network. Start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volume changes.

  • Microsoft Teams Calling via Direct Routing

Make and take calls on your business numbers inside Microsoft Teams with Summit Teams Calling. We provide the Direct Routing calling service; you keep your Microsoft licences with your current licence provider.

  • A Hosted PBX with every feature included

Our Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month with auto attendant, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps included. Handsets can be preconfigured and shipped to your office.

  • Business nbn with a static IP included

Business nbn is available nationally with a static IP at no extra charge, and speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn.

  • Ethernet over fibre for sites that need more

Where a standard nbn service is not enough, Ethernet over fibre gives a dedicated business-grade connection on our own network, with DDoS protection as standard.

  • 4G Backup that switches over automatically

4G Backup fails over to Australia's biggest mobile network (98.8% population coverage) if your main link drops, then fails back automatically when it returns.

  • Voice prioritised on Summit internet

When your internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised across the link, so calls are not competing with downloads and backups.

  • 1300 numbers, mobiles and one bill

Add 1300 and 1800 numbers, fax to email, on-hold messaging and business mobile SIM plans. Internet, phones and mobile all come on one Summit bill.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

List your current Ignite Telecom services, such as nbn, fibre, SIP trunks, Teams Calling, phone numbers and mobiles, along with site addresses and contract end dates.

  2. 2 Get a recommendation and quote

We match each site to the right internet service and choose SIP trunks, a Hosted PBX or Teams Calling for your phones.

  3. 3 Install the new connection

Your Summit internet service is installed and tested before anything is switched across, timed to suit your contract end date or office move.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

We lodge the port for your existing numbers. Keep your old service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Cancel the old services

Once your numbers are live on Summit and everything is working, cancel the services you no longer need with your previous provider.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

  • Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Whole process took less than a week, and is super cost effective. Highly recommend.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Ignite Telecom?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with Ignite Telecom.
Why switch if my Ignite Telecom service is working?
If your current service does everything you need, there may be no reason to switch. Businesses usually review their provider at contract end, when moving office, or when they want internet and phones from one business-only carrier.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with your current provider. Check your contract end date and any early termination terms, and we can time the switch to line up with the end of your contract.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes, existing numbers can be ported to Summit. Your old service must stay active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
Can I keep my existing phone system?
If your phone system supports SIP, you can connect it to Summit SIP trunks and keep using it. If it does not, a Hosted PBX or Teams Calling may suit you better.
Do you sell Microsoft Teams licences?
No. Summit provides Teams Calling via Direct Routing, and you keep buying your Microsoft licences from your current licence provider.
What internet options does Summit offer?
Business nbn nationally with a static IP included, Ethernet over fibre, 4G Static IP and 4G Backup. In Melbourne and regional Victoria we also offer fixed wireless across 500+ suburbs, with symmetric speeds from 10 Mbps up to 10 Gbps.
Do I have to move everything at once?
No. Many businesses start with one service, such as internet or phones, and move the rest when other contracts end.
Can you move my 1300 number?
Yes, 1300 and 1800 numbers can be ported to Summit. As with other numbers, keep the existing service active until the port completes.
