Overview

Hosted Telecommunications sells hosted VoIP phone systems to small businesses and corporates, supplied with Yealink SIP phones and softphone apps, on 24 or 36 month plans. Its systems include features such as call queues, hot desking, time-based routing, a digital receptionist and voicemail to email.

Businesses review their phone provider for ordinary reasons: a plan term is coming to an end, the office is moving, the team has grown or shrunk, or they want their internet and phones from one carrier so there is a single point of accountability when something needs attention.

Summit Internet offers a Hosted PBX cloud phone system with every feature included, SIP trunks for businesses that own their own phone system, and business nbn with a static IP, all on one bill. We have been doing this for 26 years, and we only serve businesses.

Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier and is not affiliated with Hosted Telecommunications.

How Summit Helps

  • A cloud phone system with every feature included

Summit's Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month. Auto attendant (IVR), ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps are all included, not sold as add-ons.

  • Keep your existing numbers

We port existing business numbers across to Summit. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported.

  • Handsets ready to plug in

We can preconfigure handsets and ship them to your office, so your team can plug in and start taking calls without a technician on site.

  • SIP trunks if you own your phone system

If your business runs its own on-premise phone system, Summit SIP trunks connect it to the phone network. Start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volume changes.

  • Voice and internet from one carrier

When your internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised (QoS) across our network. Internet, phones and mobile arrive on one bill, from one provider.

  • Business nbn with a static IP included

Business nbn from Summit includes a static IP, with speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. Ethernet over fibre is available for sites that need a dedicated connection.

  • Keep working if the connection drops

4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back automatically when your main service returns.

  • Inbound numbers and Teams calling

Add 1300 and 1800 numbers, fax to email and on-hold messaging, or connect Microsoft Teams to the phone network with Teams Calling via Direct Routing.

How It Works

  1. 1 Talk to us

Tell us how many users you have, which numbers you use and how your calls are handled today, including queues, routing and after-hours messages.

  2. 2 Get a quote

We recommend a Hosted PBX or SIP trunk setup, plus internet if you want it, and send you a clear quote.

  3. 3 Build and configure

We set up your call flows and preconfigure handsets, then ship them to your office.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

We lodge the port of your existing numbers. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Go live

Your numbers start ringing on Summit, and you then close off your old service.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Hosted Telecommunications?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with Hosted Telecommunications.
Why switch if my Hosted Telecommunications service is working?
If your current phone system does everything you need, there may be no reason to switch. Businesses usually review their provider when a plan term ends, when they move office, or when they want phones and internet from one carrier.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with Hosted Telecommunications. Check your plan term and any exit terms, and time your switch to the end of the contract where you can. We can plan the move around that date.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes, existing numbers can be ported to Summit. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
Will I keep features like call queues and voicemail to email?
Yes. Summit's Hosted PBX includes auto attendant (IVR), ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps, with every feature included from $10 per user per month.
What changes if my internet is also with Summit?
Talk to us about your current connection when you request a quote. When your internet is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised (QoS) on our network and internet, phones and mobile are on one bill.
Can you supply 1300 or 1800 numbers?
Yes. Summit supplies 1300 and 1800 inbound numbers, and can port existing inbound numbers across.
