Overview
Hello Teams provides Microsoft Teams calling services to businesses, including Operator Connect, Direct Routing, a hosted session border controller service (SBCaaS), SMS and a Teams contact centre, managed through its own online portal. The company says it was founded in Melbourne in 2021, expanded with branches in the UK, the US and New Zealand in 2022, and became a Microsoft-certified Operator Connect provider in 2023. It offers calling plans in a number of countries, Australia among them.
Businesses review their Teams calling provider for plenty of reasons: a plan or agreement is ending, the team is moving office, or they want their Teams calling and the internet connection those calls depend on to come from one carrier that deals only with businesses.
Summit offers Microsoft Teams Calling via Direct Routing, a cloud phone system and SIP trunks, plus business nbn with a static IP, 4G backup and business mobiles, all on a network we build, own and operate. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Hello Teams.
How Summit Helps
-
Teams Calling on a Carrier's Own Network
Summit connects Microsoft Teams to the phone network using Direct Routing, carried on the network we build, own and operate. Your staff keep making and taking calls in the Teams app they already use. Summit does not resell Microsoft licences, so your existing Microsoft 365 arrangements stay as they are.
-
Keep Your Existing Numbers
We port your existing phone numbers to Summit, so customers keep calling the numbers they already know. We plan the port with you and keep your current service running until it completes.
-
Internet and Calls From the Same Carrier
Teams calls are only as good as the connection under them. When your internet is also with Summit, voice traffic is prioritised (QoS), and you have one carrier accountable for both the calls and the connection.
-
Business nbn With a Static IP
Business nbn is available nationally with a static IP included, and up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. For sites that need more, we also provide Ethernet over fibre.
-
4G Backup for Your Connection
If your main connection drops, 4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network (98.8% population coverage), then fails back automatically when the main link returns.
-
A Cloud Phone System If Teams Is Not for Everyone
Not every team wants to make calls through Teams. Summit's Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month with every feature included: auto attendant, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording, and mobile and desktop apps.
-
1300 and 1800 Numbers
We provide 1300 and 1800 inbound numbers, fax to email and on-hold messaging, so your inbound numbers sit with the same carrier as the rest of your voice services.
-
One Bill for Internet, Phones and Mobile
Internet, Teams calling, phone lines and business mobile SIM plans can all sit on a single Summit bill.
How It Works
- 1 Talk to us about your setup
Talk to us about your setup
Tell us how many Teams users make external calls, which numbers you have, and what internet connection each site uses. We recommend Teams Calling via Direct Routing, Hosted PBX or SIP trunks based on how your team works.
- 2 Get a clear quote
Get a clear quote
We put Teams calling, internet, backup and mobiles in one proposal, so you can compare it against your current arrangement and the end date of your agreement.
- 3 Connect Teams and lodge the port
Connect Teams and lodge the port
We set up Direct Routing for your Microsoft Teams tenancy and lodge the request to port your numbers. Keep your Hello Teams service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
- 4 Cut over
Cut over
Once the numbers arrive, calls flow through Summit and your staff keep using Teams as before.
- 5 Close the old service
Close the old service
After the port has completed and you have confirmed everything works, you can cancel your remaining Hello Teams services.

Why Hello Teams Customers Choose Summit
- 01
A Licensed Carrier, Not Just a Calling Layer
Summit holds ACMA Carrier Licence #388 and has been in business for 26 years. We build, own and operate our own network, with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres and DDoS protection as standard.
- 02
Business-Only, Always
Summit does not sell residential services. Our products, plans and support are built around what Australian businesses need.
- 03
Teams Calling and Connectivity Together
Many Teams calling setups have one provider for the calls and another for the internet. With Summit, Teams Calling, the internet connection, 4G backup and mobiles come from one carrier, with voice traffic prioritised on our connections.
- 04
Options Beyond Teams
If some staff or sites are better suited to a cloud phone system or SIP trunks on an existing phone system, we can provide those alongside Teams Calling, so you are not locked into one way of making calls.

We recently moved our dental practice over to Summit for phone services, and the experience has been excellent from start to finish. The team has been responsive, professional, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire setup process. The transition was smooth, any issues were addressed promptly, and communication was always clear and efficient. Reliable phones and internet are essential for a busy practice like ours, and Summit has delivered exactly that. A special thank you to Michael for his patience and ongoing assistance during the transition. Highly recommend Summit to any business looking for reliable service and great customer support.Read more

After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Whole process took less than a week, and is super cost effective. Highly recommend.Read more
