Overview

Fusion Broadband is an Australian SD-WAN provider that started in 2010 with broadband bonding and failover, and trades internationally as Nepean Networks. It sells SD-WAN, bandwidth aggregation, internet failover and multi-site private networking, much of it through managed service providers who resell it under their own brand.

An SD-WAN or bonded service is only as useful as the internet connections underneath it. A contract coming to an end, a move to a new office, a new branch, or a wish to deal with fewer suppliers are all good reasons to look again at who supplies those connections, and whether the network still fits how the business works today.

Summit builds, owns and operates its own network, with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres and DDoS protection as standard. We supply business nbn with a static IP included, Ethernet over fibre, fixed wireless in Melbourne and regional Victoria and 4G Backup, and we can put your phones and mobiles on the same bill.

Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Fusion Broadband or Nepean Networks.

How Summit Helps

  • Our own network, not a reseller's

Summit holds ACMA Carrier Licence #388 and has been building its own network for 26 years. Your traffic runs over infrastructure we own and operate, with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres.

  • Business nbn with a static IP included

Every business nbn service comes with a static IP, and full-fibre nbn reaches up to 2000/500 Mbps. It is available nationally, so every site can sit on the same carrier.

  • Ethernet over fibre for sites that need more

For head offices and busy sites, Ethernet over fibre is another option for the connection. We will quote it alongside nbn so you can see the options side by side.

  • Fixed wireless in Melbourne and regional Victoria

Across 500+ suburbs, Summit's fixed wireless delivers symmetric speeds from 10 Mbps up to 10 Gbps. It is installed in 10 business days or the first month is free.

  • Automatic 4G backup

4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back once your main link returns. For remote sites, 4G Static IP is also available.

  • DDoS protection as standard

DDoS protection is included on the Summit network. You do not need to buy it as an add-on for each site.

  • Phones and mobiles on the same bill

Summit also supplies a Hosted PBX, SIP trunks and business mobile SIM plans. When your internet is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised, and everything arrives on one bill.

  • Business only

Summit does not sell residential services. Every customer we look after is a business.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us about your sites

List each location, what it connects to today and when your current agreements end. A copy of a recent bill helps.

  2. 2 We check what each address can get

We look at nbn, fibre and, for Melbourne and regional Victoria, fixed wireless, then recommend a primary link and backup for every site.

  3. 3 Get a clear quote

You receive one quote covering every site, so you can compare it with your current arrangement and your contract end dates.

  4. 4 Install alongside your existing service

We install the new connections while your current network is still running, so you can test before you cut over.

  5. 5 Cut over and cancel

Once you are happy, move your traffic across and cancel the old services in line with your agreement.

  • As a reseller, we primarily work with Summit’s 4G services and have been very impressed. The plans are affordable, flexible, and well suited to our customers—especially for internet failover solutions. The sales and support teams are responsive and genuinely helpful, which is why we’re proud to partner with Summit Internet. We happily recommend them.Read more

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

  • Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Whole process took less than a week, and is super cost effective. Highly recommend.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Fusion Broadband?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with Fusion Broadband or Nepean Networks.
Why switch if my Fusion Broadband service is working?
If your current service does everything your business needs, there may be no reason to change. Many businesses review their provider when a contract ends, when they move or open a site, or when they want internet, phones and mobiles from one carrier.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with Fusion Broadband or with the managed service provider that supplies it. Check your contract end date and any exit terms. We can help you time the switch to your contract end so you avoid paying twice.
I bought my service through an IT provider. Can I still talk to Summit?
Yes. Fusion Broadband sells much of its SD-WAN through managed service providers, so your contract may be with your IT provider. We are happy to work with you and your IT provider on the connections each site needs.
Does Summit sell SD-WAN?
Summit supplies the internet connections and backup that a multi-site network runs over: business nbn, Ethernet over fibre, fixed wireless in Melbourne and regional Victoria, and 4G Backup. Tell us how your sites are connected today and we will recommend what fits.
Do I get a static IP?
Yes. A static IP is included with Summit business nbn, and 4G Static IP is available for sites where a fixed line is not practical.
What happens if my main connection drops?
With Summit 4G Backup, your site fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network and fails back automatically when the main link returns.
Is Summit fixed wireless available at my address?
Summit fixed wireless covers Melbourne and regional Victoria only. You can check your coverage online. Business nbn and Ethernet over fibre are available more widely.
Can I keep my phone system?
Yes. If you have an existing phone system, Summit SIP trunks start from 2 channels and scale up or down. You can also move to our Hosted PBX from $10 per user per month.
