Overview

Fone Dynamics trades as Fdx and is a communications platform provider. It offers businesses inbound and outbound voice, business numbers (local, 13, 1300, 1800, mobile numbers and phone words, plus New Zealand 0800 and international toll-free), call tracking and analytics, intelligent call handling, SMS for business and integration tools, managed through a self-service portal. Fone Dynamics was acquired by Uniti Wireless (now Uniti Group) in 2019, and Call Dynamics became part of Fdx from January 2025.

A business number does its job by delivering calls to someone who can answer them, usually a mobile, a landline or a phone system. Businesses review that setup for ordinary reasons: a contract or plan term is ending, the office is moving, the phone system behind the number is due for replacement, or they want their numbers, phones and internet from one carrier that deals only with businesses.

Summit offers 1300 and 1800 inbound numbers alongside a cloud phone system, SIP trunks, Microsoft Teams Calling, business nbn with a static IP and business mobile, all on a network we build, own and operate. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Fone Dynamics (Fdx).

How Summit Helps

  • Inbound Numbers on the Same Network as Your Phones

We provide 1300 and 1800 numbers and can answer them on the phone system we run for you, so the number and the phones that pick it up sit with one carrier.

  • A Cloud Phone System With Every Feature Included

Our Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month and includes auto attendant (IVR), ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps. We can preconfigure your handsets and ship them to you.

  • SIP Trunks for the Phone System You Already Own

If your business has an on-site phone system that still does the job, SIP trunks start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volumes change.

  • Calls in Microsoft Teams

Answer your calls in Microsoft Teams through Direct Routing. You keep your existing Microsoft licences, and we provide the calling.

  • Voice Traffic Prioritised on Our Own Internet

When your internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised (QoS) across it. Business nbn comes with a static IP included, with up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn, and Ethernet over fibre is available where you need a dedicated service.

  • Calls That Keep Going When the Line Drops

4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back automatically once your main connection returns.

  • Fax to Email and On-Hold Messaging

Add fax to email and on-hold messaging, so callers waiting in a queue hear about your business rather than silence.

  • Internet, Phones and Mobile on One Bill

Add business mobile SIM plans and your numbers, phones, internet and mobiles all come from one carrier, on one bill.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

List your numbers, where each one currently rings and how your calls are routed, so we can match it on Summit.

  2. 2 Get a clear quote

We recommend the right mix of inbound numbers, Hosted PBX, SIP trunks or Teams Calling, plus internet and mobile if you want them, and send a written quote.

  3. 3 Set up your new service

We configure call flows, ring groups and queues, and preconfigure and ship handsets if you need them.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

We lodge the port of your existing numbers. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Go live, then cancel the old service

Once your numbers are working on Summit, you can arrange to close your old service.

Why Fone Dynamics (Fdx) Customers Choose Summit

  • 01

A Licensed Carrier, Not a Reseller

Summit holds ACMA Carrier Licence #388 and has been in business since August 2000, 26 years of running business networks. We build, own and operate our own network, with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres and DDoS protection as standard.

  • 02

    Business-Only, Always

We do not sell residential services. Every product, plan and process is designed for Australian businesses.

  • 03

    Numbers, Phones and Internet Together

Inbound numbers, the phone system that answers them and the internet connection they run over can all sit with one carrier, so there is one place to call when something needs changing.

  • 04

    Room to Grow

Start with a few SIP channels or a handful of Hosted PBX users, then add users, numbers, sites and connectivity as your business changes.

  • As a reseller, we primarily work with Summit’s 4G services and have been very impressed. The plans are affordable, flexible, and well suited to our customers—especially for internet failover solutions. • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

  • Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Whole process took less than a week, and is super cost effective. Highly recommend.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Fone Dynamics (Fdx)?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with Fone Dynamics, Fdx or Uniti Group.
Why switch if my Fone Dynamics (Fdx) service is working?
If your current service does everything your business needs, there may be no reason to switch. Businesses usually review their provider when a contract ends, they move office, their phone system needs replacing, or they want numbers, phones, internet and mobile from one business-only carrier.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with your current provider. Check your contract terms, and if there is a minimum term, we can time your switch to line up with its end date.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes, existing numbers can be ported to Summit, including 1300 and 1800 numbers. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
I use call tracking or SMS with Fdx. Does Summit offer the same?
Summit's voice range is built around numbers, phone systems and calling: 1300 and 1800 numbers, Hosted PBX, SIP trunks, Teams Calling, fax to email and on-hold messaging. If call tracking or SMS tools are central to how you work, tell us how you use them before you move any numbers, and we will be clear about what we can and cannot cover.
Do I need a new phone system?
Not necessarily. If you already own an on-site phone system, SIP trunks can connect it to Summit. If you would rather move to the cloud, Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month with every feature included.
Can I answer calls in Microsoft Teams?
Yes. We provide Teams Calling through Direct Routing. Summit does not resell Microsoft licences, so you keep the licences you already have.
Can I get internet from Summit as well?
Yes. We offer business nbn nationally with a static IP included, Ethernet over fibre, 4G Static IP and 4G Backup. When your internet is also Summit's, your voice traffic is prioritised across it.
