Overview

FNQ VOIP Services is a registered business name based in Edmonton, Queensland, south of Cairns. It describes itself as a Yeastar partner serving businesses in Far North Queensland, and its directory listing includes hosted PBX phone systems, on-premise Yeastar PBX systems, SIP trunks for your PBX, Yealink handsets and internet and nbn services among what it provides.

Businesses review their phone provider for plenty of reasons: an agreement is ending, the business is moving premises or opening a second site, or they want their phone system and the internet connection it runs over to come from one carrier that deals only with businesses.

Summit offers a cloud phone system, SIP trunks for phone systems you own, and Microsoft Teams Calling, plus business nbn with a static IP, 4G backup and business mobiles, all on a network we build, own and operate. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with FNQ VOIP.

How Summit Helps

  • A Business-Only Carrier

Summit does not sell residential services. We have been connecting Australian businesses for 26 years.

  • SIP Trunks for the Phone System You Already Own

If you have an on-premise PBX you want to keep, SIP trunks connect it to the phone network. They start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volumes change.

  • A Cloud Phone System With Every Feature Included

If you would rather move to the cloud, Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month and includes auto attendant and IVR, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps. Every feature is included, so there are no add-ons to work out per user.

  • Desk Phones Ready to Plug In

For staff who prefer a handset, we can preconfigure the handsets and ship them to you, ready to plug in at your desks.

  • Microsoft Teams Calling

If your team lives in Teams, Teams Calling connects it to the phone network through Direct Routing, so staff make and take calls on their business numbers from Teams. You keep buying your Microsoft licences as you do now.

  • Business nbn With Voice Prioritised

Business nbn is available nationally with a static IP included, with speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. When your internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS, and our network has DDoS protection as standard.

  • 4G Backup for When the Line Drops

A VoIP phone system needs a working connection. 4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back automatically when your main service returns.

  • Inbound Numbers, Mobiles and One Bill

Add 1300 and 1800 numbers, fax to email, on-hold messaging and business mobile SIM plans. Internet, phones and mobile arrive on one bill.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have now

List your numbers, handsets, phone system (hosted or on-premise), call flows and internet services, and when your current agreement ends.

  2. 2 Get a quote

We recommend the right setup, whether SIP trunks for your existing PBX, Hosted PBX or Teams Calling, plus internet and backup if you want them, and send you a written quote.

  3. 3 Set up your service

We connect your SIP trunks or build your auto attendant, ring groups and queues, and preconfigure and ship handsets if you need them.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

We port your existing numbers across. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Cancel once you are live

When your numbers have moved and calls are working, you cancel the old service.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of FNQ VOIP?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with FNQ VOIP, and this page is not endorsed by FNQ VOIP.
Why switch if my FNQ VOIP service is working?
If your current service does everything you need, there may be no reason to switch. Businesses usually talk to us when an agreement is ending, when they are moving premises, or when they want their phone system, internet and mobiles from one business-only carrier.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes. We port your existing numbers to Summit. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with FNQ VOIP. Check your terms, and if there is a minimum term, we can plan the switch so your Summit service is ready when it ends.
Can I keep my existing on-premise phone system?
Yes, in most cases. SIP trunks connect a phone system you own to the phone network, starting from 2 channels. Tell us the make and model when you request a quote and we will confirm the setup.
What kind of cloud phone system does Summit offer?
Hosted PBX is our cloud phone system, from $10 per user per month with auto attendant and IVR, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps included. We also offer Microsoft Teams Calling through Direct Routing.
Do I need to change my internet provider too?
No. Our phone services work over your existing connection. If you would like your internet with us as well, business nbn is available nationally with a static IP included, and voice traffic is prioritised with QoS when the connection is also Summit's.
Can I keep my 1300 or 1800 number?
Yes. We provide 1300 and 1800 inbound numbers, and existing inbound numbers can be ported across in the same way as your other numbers.
What happens if my internet goes down?
Add 4G Backup. It fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back automatically when your main connection returns.
