Overview

Firenet (FireNet Pty Ltd) is a business internet provider based in Macquarie Park, NSW. Its range includes nbn Business, nbn Enterprise Ethernet, business fibre, business fixed point wireless, 4G and dark fibre, plus hosted PABX phone systems, SIP trunks, IP transit, private IP and Office 365.

There are plenty of good reasons to review a provider without anything being wrong. A contract is coming to an end. You are moving office. You want your internet and phones from one carrier with voice traffic prioritised end to end. Or you want to compare what else is available before you renew.

Summit Internet is a business-only carrier. We build, own and operate our own network with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres, and we supply Business nbn, Ethernet over fibre, fixed wireless in Melbourne and regional Victoria, a cloud phone system, SIP trunks and business mobile plans to Australian businesses.

Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Firenet.

How Summit Helps

  • Business nbn With a Static IP Included

Our Business nbn plans are available nationally, with a static IP included and speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. Every service sits behind DDoS protection as standard.

  • Ethernet Over Fibre for Larger Sites

If your office runs on a dedicated fibre or enterprise ethernet service, our Ethernet over fibre is the like-for-like option, delivered over a network we build, own and operate.

  • Fixed Wireless in Melbourne and Regional Victoria

For Victorian sites, our fixed wireless covers 500+ suburbs with symmetric speeds from 10 Mbps up to 10 Gbps. It is installed in 10 business days or the first month is free.

  • A Cloud Phone System With Every Feature Included

Moving off a hosted PABX? Our Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month with auto attendant, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps included. We can preconfigure handsets and ship them to you.

  • SIP Trunks for the Phone System You Already Own

If you run your own phone system on SIP trunks, our SIP trunks start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volumes change.

  • Voice Prioritised on Our Own Connection

When your internet connection is also with Summit, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS, so calls are not competing with downloads and cloud backups.

  • 4G Backup That Fails Over Automatically

4G Backup switches your connection to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, if your main link drops, then fails back automatically when it returns.

  • Internet, Phones and Mobile on One Bill

Add business mobile SIM plans, 1300 and 1800 numbers, fax to email and on-hold messaging, and see everything on a single bill.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have now

Send us a list of your Firenet services: internet connections, phone numbers, hosted PABX users or SIP channels, and when each contract ends.

  2. 2 Get a quote matched to your sites

We check what is available at each address and quote the internet, phone and mobile services that fit how your business works.

  3. 3 Keep your Firenet services active

Only active numbers can be ported, so leave your existing phone service running until the port is complete. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  4. 4 Connect and port

We install your new connection, set up your phone system or SIP trunks, and port your numbers across.

  5. 5 Cancel the old services

Once your numbers are live with Summit and everything is working, you cancel the remaining Firenet services.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Firenet?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388, and has been in business since August 2000. We are not affiliated with Firenet.
Why switch if my Firenet service is working?
If your current services do everything your business needs, there may be no reason to change. Businesses usually review their provider when a contract is ending, when they are moving office, or when they want internet, phones and mobile from one carrier on one bill.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with Firenet. Check your contract end dates and any early termination terms, and we can time the switch so your Summit services start as your existing contract ends.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes, in most cases your existing numbers can be ported to Summit. Keep your current phone service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
Can Summit replace a hosted PABX?
Yes. Our Hosted PBX is a cloud phone system with auto attendant, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps included, from $10 per user per month.
I use SIP trunks with my own phone system. Do I need to replace it?
Not necessarily. Our SIP trunks connect to existing phone systems, start from 2 channels and can scale up or down.
Do you offer business nbn with a static IP?
Yes. Our Business nbn is available nationally with a static IP included, and speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn.
Is Summit fixed wireless available at my address?
Summit fixed wireless is available in Melbourne and regional Victoria only. You can check your coverage or ask us to check each of your sites.
Do you resell Microsoft 365 licences?
No. Summit does not resell Microsoft licences. We can connect Microsoft Teams to the phone network through Teams Calling via Direct Routing.
