Overview

Evolvenet is a business telecommunications provider based in Collingwood, Victoria, that supplies services to businesses across Australia. It sells office phones over VoIP, including hosted VoIP, cloud voice and on-premise phone systems, SIP trunking for on-site systems and for Microsoft Teams, and direct in dial number ranges. It also sells business nbn plans, nbn Enterprise Ethernet and fibre, and mobile SIM services with 4G/5G failover hardware.

Businesses review their provider for ordinary reasons: a contract is coming to an end, the office is moving, the phone system is due for replacement, or they want internet, phones and mobiles from one carrier that owns its network and deals only with businesses.

Summit offers a cloud phone system, SIP trunks for existing phone systems, Microsoft Teams Calling, business nbn with a static IP, Ethernet over fibre, 4G Backup and business mobile, all on our own network. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Evolvenet.

How Summit Helps

  • A Cloud Phone System With Every Feature Included

Our Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month with every feature included: auto attendant and IVR, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps. Handsets can be preconfigured and shipped to your office.

  • SIP Trunks for the Phone System You Already Own

If you have an on-premise phone system that still does the job, our SIP trunks connect it to the network. Start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volume changes.

  • Microsoft Teams Calling via Direct Routing

If your team lives in Teams, we connect Teams Calling to the phone network through Direct Routing, so staff make and take business calls from Teams. You keep your Microsoft licences with your current licensing partner, because Summit does not resell them.

  • Business nbn With a Static IP Included

Our business nbn is available nationally with a static IP included, up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. It suits offices running cloud phones, remote access and hosted applications.

  • Ethernet Over Fibre for Bigger Sites

Where a site needs more than nbn, Ethernet over fibre connects your site to the network we build, own and operate, with DDoS protection as standard.

  • Phone Calls Prioritised on Our Own Network

When your internet and phones are both with Summit, voice traffic is prioritised (QoS) across the connection, so calls are not competing with downloads and video for space.

  • 4G Backup and Business Mobile

4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network (98.8% population coverage) and fails back when the main service returns. Add business mobile SIM plans and your internet, phones and mobiles sit on one bill.

  • Inbound Numbers and Extras

We also provide 1300 and 1800 numbers, fax to email and on-hold messaging, so the rest of your voice setup can move in the same project.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

Share your current services: phone numbers, number of users or SIP channels, nbn or fibre connections and mobiles. A recent bill is usually enough.

  2. 2 Get a clear proposal

We recommend the right mix of Hosted PBX, SIP trunks or Teams Calling, internet and mobile, and confirm availability at each site.

  3. 3 Port your numbers

We lodge the port of your existing numbers. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  4. 4 Install and configure

We connect your internet, set up your phone system or trunks and ship preconfigured handsets where needed.

  5. 5 Cut over and cancel

Once your numbers are live with Summit and everything is tested, you cancel the old services with your previous provider.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Evolvenet?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with Evolvenet.
Why switch if my Evolvenet service is working?
If your current services do everything you need, there may be no reason to change. Businesses usually review their provider when a contract ends, the office moves, the phone system needs replacing, or they want phones, internet and mobile from one carrier that owns its network.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with Evolvenet. Check your contract terms for any early termination fees. Many businesses time the switch to their contract end date, and we can plan the move around it.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
In most cases, yes. We port your existing numbers to Summit. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
Can I keep my existing phone system?
If your on-premise system supports SIP, you can usually keep it and connect it with our SIP trunks. If you would rather move to the cloud, our Hosted PBX replaces it with every feature included.
Do you support Microsoft Teams calling?
Yes. We connect Teams to the phone network through Direct Routing. Summit does not resell Microsoft licences, so you keep those with your current licensing partner.
Do you provide business nbn outside Victoria?
Yes. Our business nbn is available nationally, with a static IP included and speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn.
Can you provide mobile backup for my internet?
Yes. 4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network when your main connection drops, and fails back automatically when it returns.
